@ceebree:  My stone is an 8mm cushion cut Forever Brilliant. I ruled out an Amora because there’s no backing by C&C, plus I really wanted to be able to handpick my stone and unless we ordered several stones and returned the rest that wasn’t happening via MCo. I chose a FB over an unenhanced for a couple different reasons. While I am a huge fan of moissys in general, I am very color sensitive and didn’t want anything wittoo much warmth for my ering. Considering we went with a larger size stone AND it’s cushion, we ultimately liked the look of the FB best and couldn’t be happier!! Hope this helps 🙂

I have an amora enhanced moissy and usually would recommend it but from what I’ve seen on betterthandiamond forums, it seems like the most recent batch is really warm :/. From what I understand, C&C are using the best of the unenhanced moissy for their forever brilliant and then better than diamond has to select their unenhanced moissy from the leftovers and it seems like they just aren’t as white. So I actually think forever brilliant would be a good way to go now!

I have a 1.5ct amora moissanite and it’s a round brilliant and the only time is see color is when it’s reflecting yellow light or if I’m in a room with cream walls. 🙂

I chose Amora, I just prefered it to a FB.  It’s all preference really.  I have definitely heard what PP said about the new batches being warm though.  I was one of the first on the waiting list, and we ordered mine in early March when they became available again.  I got to see it and take photos before SO shipped it away to get set in a custom setting we’re having made now. The stone I had was very white, and the photos I took were on an overcast/rainy day.

I honestly think all moissys are gorgeous, but if you’re colour sensitive, I would get an enhancement, either FB or Amora.

I would order from schubachs and have them hand select the best one they have, regardless of which kind it is.

Mine is a 1.25 unenhanced and I love it. It does show noticeable warmth in certain lighting conditions, but in others it’s very white. The warmth is not greenish, just yellowish. My favorite feature though is the steely gray color that it shows when it’s cloudy and rainy outside. Some moissanites show green or yellow when they’re “moody”, but mine shows steely gray. I really do love it. However, I won’t recommend it if you’re looking for the whitest stone you can get, that’s just not my personal preference. I prefer a stone with more personality. Here’s a rainy day picture for reference:

ETA: Here’s a sunny(ish) day pic for comparison (not in direct sunlight):

I have a 1.32ct ring 1ct center stone moissy and it’s unenhanced. In certain lighting I get some warmth like in my truck it has a pale greenish tent. Not very noticable, others don’t seem to see it, but I do. I still LOVE LOVE LOVE my ring though and I couldn’t have asked for a better one.

I used to be on Team Amora, but the recent “moody” bs has turned me off. I own Amora studs and recently bought Schubby unenhanced studs. There is a color difference with Amora being whiter, but Schubby knows how to pick a cut. Maybe I have “moody” stones, but when the amora are dirty they look like plastic. I have done a dirty test to the amora, unenhanced, and natural diamonds; the amora are the only stones that look funky.  I would order a FB from Schubachs.

I feel like Less and BTD have sort of become shady.  He seems to make alot of negative posts about other companies. He used to bash Diamond Nexus and now is after CC.  The BTD forum is now heavily moderated with quite a few Shilly Posts.

I got a FB from Schubach’s (which they hand picked for me Smile ). I had initially wanted an amora but when I was ready to order, they didn’t have any available (and they still don’t since they stopped doing the amora treatment for all but round and cushion cuts). Since I was getting a fancy cut and 1.5 ct., I feel like I needed the enhancement and everyone I talked to strongly recommended it.

I have a forever brilliant 1.4 ct cushion center stone w/ a double halo set in palladium.  All moissies can look buttery in certain (usually blue lighting) because they are a 3.1 on the color scale.  Anything above a 3.2 is considered to be “colorless” and won’t absorb any light in any spectrum.  Because moissies are JUST under the 3.2 cutoff, they will absorb blue light and reflect yellow.  The only time I notice color in mine ring is in my living room where we have greyish-bluish-purplish walls.  Other than that it looks stark white.  She’s not techically mine yet, so I snapped a secret shot when the SO let me try her on to make sure I liked her.  **LOVE**

@FutureDrAtkins:  that looks gorgeous! And I can’t see any color at all. Be sure to post more pictures when it’s official!
