Awhile back when I first discovered Moissanite I remember reading when you should just pay to have the stone enhanced… like after a certain size… or whatever. But, now I can’t remember.
We’re planning to stay under 1 carat… do you think it matters much if it’s enhanced or not?

Mine is 1ct unenhanced and looks lovely and not at all yellow 🙂 you can tell its warmer than my bright white CZ but it’s not noticably warmer than the H-J colour diamonds in my local shop. Hope that helps!

@Anardana: Thank you 🙂 I am giving my husband complete control over what size stone I get… so I’m just trying to do some research so I can tell him. Even though he admitted he did some research of his own today =) I just do not want a yellowish stone so IDK!

i have personally seen both, and i prefer enhanced, above 1 ct in my opinion.
Also the cut has alot to do with it, the buttery undertone is alot less visible in a round.
It all depends on your preference… i have a friends with a unenhanced in yellow gold and it looks STUNNING.
But becasue i wanted a real white look in platnium, we chose enhanced… you can look at youtube videos to see the difference (that helped me out) cause everone has thier own opinion 🙂

From the ones I’ve seen, round moissanites a carat or less look pretty white, but other shapes can show a slight yellow tint. Maybe you could order an unenhanced loose stone to see for yourself, and send it back if you don’t like it?

Under 1 ct is good unenhanced, but over 1 I would enhance it.
I have two rings and a pendant- so I am familiar 🙂

@mrskoubik: I don’t have any moissanite jewelry…yet, but my sis-in-law’s ering is a solitaire of 1.7ct square brilliance Moissy. She originally had a 1ct but thought it was too small. I actually think the 1ct looked better. When the carat weight goes up, the yellow/green tint is more appearant.

I have a 1.25ct moissy, unenhanced as I prefer warmer stones. I snapped a recent picture that I think most accurately shows the color it can give off in certain lighting. Otherwise, it’s pretty white.
