Moissy has double refraction (vs diamond single) and that’s what you’re noticing. Any moissy will have that, it’s inherent to the stone. Lots of ladies love that about it! And yes, I think it’s a nice size.

I have never seen a moissanite in real life, but I think that’s just the way that stone works. I think it’s a perfect size for your hand. It’s beautiful!!!!

Look at the OEC. I didnt like the round brilliant because it was disco ball sparkly. While the OEC still throws some rainbows, the limited number of cuts on the OEC cuts down on the noticacable double refractionand and keeps the stone a little calmer.

Good size ring, love the rainbows.  My 2.5cttw mossy does the same thing.  I love the color in different lights.

Buffalovebaby:  The chemical/physical properties of moissanite make it so that it gives off rainbow flashes instead of white light flashes like a diamond. It has twice the fire of a diamond, i.e. twice the rainbow shine. Upgrading to forever brilliant won’t change that about the stone. That’s just the way it is.

A lot of people like myself are attracted to it for that very reason. If you find you really don’t like it, then maybe return it and get a diamond/white sapphire/cz?

Hmm. I just replied and it looks like WB ate my reply once I submitted it. Anyways, basically what I said was moissanite has twice the fire (rainbow sparkle) of diamond. If you don’t like that quality, then upgrading to a FB stone isn’t going to change it, and you might want to return and go with a diamond or white sapphire maybe.

I have a FB moissy and it throws rainbows like crazy and I love it. I don’t think that gives it a fake quality, many people that see my ring assume it is a diamond. Lovely ring!

I don’t think forever brilliant enhancement will change the rainbow effect. I have a forever brilliant oec moissy and it has that intense rainbow sparkle under fluorescent lighting too, like at walmart, target etc.. it’s definitely not my favorite look for it lol but those are the only places I’ve noticed it. Which might be different for a round brilliant.

Buffalovebaby:  I have a forever Brilliant and it has the rainbow effect! It is my favorite part and it sparkles like crazy!! I haven’t had anyone tell me that it looks like a fake. Although most people (friends & family)  I am upfront about telling them it is a moissanite.

Buffalovebaby:  I have a FB enhanced and you will still get the rainbows. That’s one of the reasons I love it! The sparklier the better to me! It’s all personal preference but it sounds like you want the icy shine of a diamond. Moissanite is pretty rainbow sparkly no matter what cut you get I think.

My FB RB also throws rainbows in some lighting (especially right after I clean it). When I wear it with my CZ jewelry, you can definitely tell which is which because the moissy is MUCH more sparkly, and the CZs don’t have any color flashes at all. So if someone cares enough to judge, they probably won’t think it’s a CZ.

I actually get the most compliments when people see the rainbows. And no, no one has ever seen them and questioned if the ring was “real” or not. Go with your personal preference.
