Iam seeing a ton of beautiful Moissanite rings and I have decided that is what I want my engagement ring to be. I am very interested in the 9.5mm cushion cut forever brilliant moissanite, but I dont even know where to start! Do you buy the stone first online then take it somewhere to get a setting? Where should I buy it at? I NEED HELP! Please post pictures and any advice you may have please!

That’s what we’re going to do 🙂
SO bought the stone from moissaniteco and we are having it set locally. It’s a 7.5mm Forever One 🙂

It depends on what you want as a setting, are you very specific and want a custom setting?
The best place I would get it would be MoissaniteCo. You can buy the stone individually or choose a setting and they will set it for you. They have a lot of settings and designs to choose from and are apparently lovely to work with. They also stock a lot of the different moissanite. They also do custom pieces too if you wanted something in particular.

Probably not something specific, I want a fairly simple setting so I will look! Thank you! There is also an Etsy shop that is known and gets their stones from Charles & Colvard so I have been looking at their rings too. It’s just hard not being able to try it on!

I bought my ring (solitaire) from Moissaniteco but was underwhelmed when we received it. So FH offered to have the moissy reset into a custom setting by David Klass (LOVE)! And I love it! There are certainly some BEAUTIFUL rings out there, but as far as the solitaire ones, I was just a little underwhelmed. But honestly, either way, you can’t really go wrong!

Both my F1 and Tiffany style setting are from Moissaniteco.

You can buy the setting and stone together from tons of websites and etsy sellers. I wanted a little bit more control and customization with my ring so I ordered a forever brilliant OEC through Moissaniteco.com. Once that arrived and I was happy with it we bought my setting from Rosados Box. My husband then took the moissy and setting into a local jeweler and had them set.
my ring for reference.

I dropped hints about rings and gave my now-FI some sites/pictures of ones I loved. He ended up getting my ring custom made on Etsy (Rosado’s Box, they’re AWESOME) and I am so in love with it. It’s rose gold three-stone with diamond halo and diamonds in the band….it’s my dream ring and he did such an incredible job!! We had talked about what stone to get prior to the engagement and for ethical and financial reasons (we’re going to be buying a house AND both going back for second Masters’ degrees in the next year on top of the wedding expenses, so we’re trying to save money), we decided moissanite was the way to go. Nobody has ever questioned the stone – though I would have zero problem telling them it’s a moissy and not a diamond – and it is SO sparkly, I love it! I’ll include some pics too 🙂

I *just* got a mossy with setting from the Etsy store JulianStudio. I am so so so pleased with it. It has a very similar style to Rosado’s Box, but it was much cheaper. The cheaper price probably comes from the fact that it is one studio with one artist and not quite as big of a name as Rosado’s Box (which does have a physical store under a different name). By default, JulianStudio uses Forever Classic mossies but I’m certain she’ll get you a Forever One or whatever you’d like (she had to get a larger stone for me, for instance). You, of course, get the Colvard & Charles warrenty card.

No they are diamonds. Its easier to source and actually cheaper for pave to be diamond and not moissy.
heyyy catalina! I live in Huntington Beach and stare at that island every day!
