I really love my moissy. I got my ring from fire and brilliance and it’s a forever one. So far no downsides to it. No one has questioned me on the stone. Everyone just thinks it’s beautiful. I’ve had it for a few months now. It sparkles more than the diamonds I have. The price was what made us choose moissanite. We got the size we wanted for so much less

I have a three stone FB moissy from MoCo and I love it. Center stone is 1ct equivalent and side stones are .25ct each. (Ring size 6.5) No downsides as of yet and I’ve had it two months. Everyone just thinks it’s beautiful!

I have a 2.5ct FB moissanite. I chose moissanite because they sparkle more than diamonds and are also way more affordable. The plus side is that is sparkles rainbow colors…which I like. Down side is that it shows too much color for me and mine has developed a rainbow stain. I plan to upgrade to F1 with in the year. Here’s a pic of my rings:

I have an 8x6mm forever one oval

pros and cons, aside from price, are pretty much a matter of preference, so I’ll just give you mine I suppose. ๐Ÿ˜Š

pro: sparkles like a diamond on steroids, cost-effective, splintery facets, ethical (if that is a concern for you), massive rainbow sparkle, colorless, big sparkle, quality, sparkle, and did I mention sparkle???

cons: Most people still don’t know about moissy, so it’s not as widely accepted as the traditional diamond. I personally, don’t really care, because no one in real life asks about it anyway.

Heres a video I took of my F1 in the sunlight ๐Ÿ’•

Hope this helps! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•

The wedding band is diamond. The engagement ring has 3 moissys. I actually regret getting the wedding band because i love the moissanite soooo much!

I just posted a thread on this last week, I think it was?

All the details are in that thread. I think moissanite is an amazing choice and LOVE mine! One tip, take a look around at other manufacturers. Now that Charles and Colvard’s patent has expired, more manufacturers are coming ot the surface and there are some amazing options out there with more variety in cuts and sizes!

This is my 1.5ct Forever One moissy (setting is custom). I love it! I personally would not say there are really any downsides unless you are slightly on the edge about having something other than a diamond. It does have a different cut but not so much so that anyone is going to even notice (if that is even a concern to you), unless they stare at diamonds and moissy all day like on the bee. Own it and love it for what it is and you will be happy happy joy joy.

I went with Forever One since I was worried about not liking the warmth of the Claissic or Forever Brilliant would give off. I like white icy stones, but some love the warmth so that may be something to debate.

I have an 8.5 mm (2.5 ct equivalent) FB moissanite. The colour is in the G-H-I range, and I prefer the slight warmth. The pros: Cost, brilliance, and Earth-friendly. Can’t think of any cons.

I had a great experience working with MoCo. I purchased this OEC moissy stone (below) loose and had it set in a solitaire setting I already had. (The band paired with it is antique diamonds.)

I also have this antique reproduction from them as well. I wear it as a RHR:

Cons to moissanite imo, are the “rainbow stain” that needs to be cleaned periodically with silver polish and aggressive scrubbing, and the sparkle can appear sort of “plasticky” in badly cut stones.

I also own diamonds and they are way less of a hassle to keep clean and the sparkle is crisper in general, which some people prefer. The pros to moissy are they are affordable in larger sizes than diamonds. I really love and collect jewelry so I enjoy both for their different attributes. My diamonds are just as sparkly though. I have a diamond OEC that is a fire bomb and is hard to tell from my moissy one. So regardless of which stone you choose be realllly picky about how it is cut. A poorly cut anything is not a stone you want.

I went with a Forever One. I love it! So beautiful! I also have diamonds and high quality cubic zirconia rings. I love Moissanite though. Great investment and no regrets.

I have a diamond engagement ring, but got a Moissanite eternity ring.

So far no downfall to having Moissanite over diamond. They are just as durable, cost less than 1/10 the price, sparkle like crazy, and very few people can tell it’s not a diamond. It’s man made – meaning no one died mining it, and there is no environmental damage from it. Even better – MoissaniteCo uses recycled gold, so there’s no chemicals like cyanide being used to strip gold from ore. The environmental impact from the creation of a 1 ct diamond ring astounded me – so i was so happy to hear that MC is great for both the gem and the metal.

GemmaBella :

first off…gorgeous! I am on the market for a rhr now. I love the emerald cut…it has such beautiful clean lines. But I love how your rhr looks. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who wants to collect rings lol I feel like I want one of everything!  I have a super sparkly diamond so I now want a nice large moissy!

Im worried about this rainbow stain thing tho, first I heard of it. Why does this happen? Anything to prevent it? Good to know you can scrub it off…

I LOVE my moissy and didn’t want a diamond for a number of reasons. Everyone assumes that my ring is a diamond, and when I do tell people about moissanite, they are SHOCKED that it’s a simulant. I love that moissy is even sparklier (due to double refraction) and warmer (I got a Forever Brilliant) than most diamonds.

There are tons of threads in Rings about moissanite, so feel free to look at other posts too. ๐Ÿ™‚
