I’m in the “waiting” period, but my Boyfriend or Best Friend and I are definitely getting married.
So, naturally, I’ve started thinking rings. Especially since he brought up rings first (he was telling me about how much his friend spent on his ring [$8K+ is crazy IMO, I’d rather spend that on the wedding/honeymoon])
What do you all who got them, think of them? Can you please post pictures?
I’m thinking I want a larger (1.5ct) stone, princess cut with a channel band. The diamond equivelent is much more than I want him to spend. So I found Moissanite options, and I was sold. I want something sparkly, so the fact that it is more brilliant than a diamond and double refracts light (rainbows) got me!

I have just recently gotten three mossy stones. One is the center of this ring set and is a bit chamagney in color, or golden, in some lights, but I knew it was going to be:
Next up are loose stones. The square cut cushion is a 7mm, 1.5 ct Charles & Colvard stone seen here with the round one in the ring.
Here is the cushion in light from the window, a tad blurry but does show some of the rainbow sparkles. These stones are sooo hard to photograph, they look much better IRL.
Here are the above cushion and then the round Indian cheap mossy I got from Ebay. It is grayer, is 6.5 mm, .84 ct.

saoirse22: I have a 1.5 ct round brilliant Forever One. I love it. It is really pretty! If you are going for the princess cut, just keep in mind the cut is alot different than your typical princess diamond etc.! Have you thought about a cushion?

I wanted to add, how surprised I was at how beautiful they are IRL. I’m so pleased I went this direction. Sparkle is mad-crazy beautiful. I have only found one light that they don’t look all that great in, the grow lights we have for starting plants. But then my diamonds don’t look good under those either.
I would highly recommend Moissanite! Mine are the classic, not Forever One or Forever Brilliant.

2.5 ct FB from moco. I love it! My first was a round moissanite, but I fell in love with, and recently upgraded to a step cut.

This is my 4ct center and the 2nd photo is my 3ct. Both are forever brilliants.

heputaringonit: So beautiful! Where is it from? Is that an OEC? What an amazing ring!

I don’t own any of these anymore, but here are a few of my old moissanite rings!
My first one – an 8mm Amora moissanite (not Amora Gem!) OEC in 18k yellow gold:
Another 8mm OEC, this time unenhanced, in 14k rose gold:
A 7.5mm unenhanced OEC in a platinum tiffany repro. Best moissanite OEC of any of them I have had I think. It was an older unenhanced so not as white as newer ones but it was perfect patterning and was always so nice and bright! Went to a lovely lady who is using it as her engagement ring :):
Another 7.5mm unenhanced OEC in a vintage platinum setting:
An 8.5 mm unenhanced OEC in two tone gold. This stone was beautiful too, but I only had it very shortly before I resold, I found the stone too be way too big for me!
I love moissanite, obviously, particularly that OEC cut as you can see. I do prefer diamonds though when it comes down to it, as they have a lustre and performance in person that moissanites just don’t match, and I am all about true antique/old cut stones for their history which moissanite does not have obviously. But, as it’s own stone, I think moissanite is lovely.
Here are some comparisons in bathroom lighting between the 7.5mm moissanite OEC above and my diamond ring (centre is a K, sidestones are H). Not totally fair as they are very different styles and cuts, but as you can see, they both look lovely. In person I noticed more differences and definitely prefer the performance of the diamond, but if I did not have the diamond ring to directly compare would probably not be so aware of the differences:

desertgypsy: Thank you! Yes, it’s an OEC. It was listed on Diamond Bistro. I am in love with it!

Thank you ladies! love them!
Now, I’ve seen a couple different metals here. what are your favorite metals to have them set in? I’ve always been a white gold/platinum girl.. but with the natural yellow/champagne color of these stones I’m thinking maybe rose gold?
