Hello Bees, this is my first post so bear with me!!
My SO and I have been together for over 5.5 years. He recently asked me what style of engagement ring I’d like (he knows I’d like to chose my own). I’m almost certain that moissanite is for me and I’ve had my heart set on an oval solitaire.
I have been researching moissanite and was reading through information on the moissaniteco website when I came across the following…
WHICH CUT IS THE MOST BRILLIANT OR WHITEST?
Below is a list of the Moissanite shapes, organised in accordance to their brilliance:
I am now conscious that an oval solitaire will not be super sparkly which is what I would like. Can any of you lovely bees who may have an oval solitaire or moissanite shed any more light (no pun intended!) or personal opinion on their rings sparkle? Do you have any photographs of oval moissanite?
Thank you in advance,

I have a 1.25 ct forever brilliant Ring Bearer and it sparkles like crazy in the sun that it’s almost blinding. It’s white for the most part, but sometimes has a buttery tone. Have you tried other forums such as The Facet Lounge or Better Than Diamond for reviews on oval moissys? I’d even check YouTube for videos.

I think the FB round is probably the most sparkly. Moissanite is also more colorful sparkly than a diamond if that’s what you’re going for. Mine is a 2ct. FB round moissanite and it does awesome things in sunlight! I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I’ve had a round, oval, and cushion (as of yesterday) and they have all been SUPER sparkly. I wouldn’t be able to grade them accordly to sparkle factor, they all seem pretty similar. Moissanite will be more “sparkly” than a diamond anyway, so I don’t think you have anything to worry about 🙂
Here was my oval (non enhanced, 1ct). Not a great pic, but she was very sparkly
And FB 6mm cushion

This is how I would arrange them from most to least brilliant. The OEC would be somewhere in the middle, maybe 4 or 5, but its hard to place because the fire/brilliance is different than the rest.
1) Round Brilliant
4) Square Brilliant
