Go with the Moissanite.  It’s better quality than Asha in my opinion.  I have a CZ and well it’s not the prettiest.

I have a hard time believing that the plating could last a long time. I’d always be paranoid that I’d damage the surface.  go with moissanite!

(edit) why would a moissanite be the talk of the town, but not asha? I’m confused.

@ames12708: I have friends and family who will badmouth my SO all over town if they find out its not a real diamond.

that’s terrible! they are shallow. egg their houses if they do so. (ok, kidding. don’t do that.)

I have a 1.25 Ring Bearer enhanced moissanite and I love it. It never shows color (it does pick up what you are wearing. Like if I hold it up close to my WVU bright ass yellow hoodie, you can see yellow in it, but only small hints. It doesn’t turn the stone yellow.)

    1. Real life people are not going to ask if it’s real unless you get something so big that they will question it. If you are working part time and your fiance barely makes the living wage, someone is going to question you when you show them your brand new 2ct “diamond” Even my friend who is a self proclaimed “diamond diva” told me I had the most beautiful diamond that she had ever seen. When I told her it was moissanite, she seriously grabbed my hand and examined it for 5 minutes and asked if I were joking.

    2. Moissanite doesn’t look like a diamond because it has a double refraction index meaning it sparkles more than a diamond. This is was a lot of people love about moissanite. If you don’t like uber sparkle, then go with the asha or a diamond.

    3. I don’t have too much info on asha, but some bees have them and would be glad to share photos.

    4. Check out betterthandiamond.com and hang out in the moissanite and asha forums. LOTS of ring porn there!

    My moissanite

Next to a green bag because somone on here claimed if you put it next to something green, it would turn green.

Oh, and there is a bee here with a 1.25 or maybe 1.5 ct non enhanced and it looks like it’s as white as it could be.

I vote for Asha, because a Moissanite comes in fewer cuts (and I wanted an asscher.)  Also, Moissanite is more expensive πŸ™  But having said that, I definitely want one someday!

I have a beautiful antique cushion asha halo that makes people fall all over themselves gushing πŸ™‚

I suggest you check out the betterthandiamond.com forums, there are thousands of ladies who will share their experiences, there are heaps of happy mossanite and asha customers and lots of photos, many comparing the two even next to diamonds.

There are ladies who have had both type of stones for years and years and their stones are still in perfect condition.

I have an asha and am going to get a mossanite one day too, oh and we just ordered my asha wedding band *yay*

They honestly both have their merits! Its really personal choice πŸ™‚

I would go with the new MIRA , I just ordered it and had to send it back for some setting adjustments but it is the first true H coloured moissy – no green/grey tint – it is gorgeous (total understatement) … sometimes it is even too white for comfort!  and the durability of a moissy is worth it . Unless you socialize with gemologists or diamond cutters I think you should be fine πŸ˜‰
