Moissanite is definetly a better, long term solution for the stone vs Asha.  You would also like to know that while the classics have a lot of color to them, there is almost no difference between a moissanite classic and a moissanite FB [none that I have personally seen].  But if you want the whitest and brightest-get a Forever 1 moissanite, or an Amora Gem/Ultra.

This is a 4ct forever brilliant moissanite on a size 7 finger.

Hi nkj317,

I am not engaged, but my bf and I have compared diamonds, moissanite, and gemstones (emerald/saphire/morganite) and decided that moissanite was the top choice. We have talked to jewelers and researched the pros and cons of each and moissanite seems to be the best gemstone for us to purchase because of it’s price, hardness, and asthetics. Moissanite is the second hardest gemstone right under diamond, yet a fraction of the price and more gorgeous looking. After some consideration, I have decided on forever brilliant moissanite rather than forever one because reviews have mentioned that forever one moissanite has grey/blue undertones and although it is “colorless”, it is dull compared to forever brilliant which has some warmth to it. Good luck in the ring shopping process. Have fun!

I’ve never seen an asha in person but I heard they are essentially a CZ. I just got a Forever Brilliant moissanite and I absolutely love it! It is beautiful and a forever stone. It does have some warmth to it so if you want pure white then I think the Forever One or Amora Gem are the way to go. My FB is pure white most of the time. I’ve noticed a buttery warmth to it while driving in the car on a  rainy, grey day but that’s it. Here are a couple pictures. The last one is the one I took to show the warmth it can show.

marriedalready69:  is your main stone tension set?!? I love the look of it but I would DESTROY it in a heartbeat if mine was like that. I’m surprised I haven’t broken prongs yet…love my ring and will never change it, but probably should have gotten a bezel set

You can go to the charles and colvard website directly and search where to buy locations.  The board won’t let me post the link [no idea why though!]

nkj317:  not that I’ve heard of yet. But sometimes some small local jewelers carry moissanite and I bet if you found one that did, they would be able to order one for you to look at.

nkj317:  you could always order a loose stone from moissaniteco then send it back if you don’t like it, and if you do like it they could set it into a ring. I also wanted to recommend the amora gem ultra, not to be confused with amora moissanite. They are currently available in round, cushion, asscher, princess, radiant, oval, oec, and soon will come the emerald cut and august vintage cushion. I have a round amora gem ultra and I love it so much more than I did my moissanite. You can find out more info at betterthandiamond.com
