I’ve seen plenty of photos of moissys that give off that grey color …the lighting in a picture doesn’t necessarily make it easy to tell the difference… idc what anyone says it’s NOT easy to spot the differences in day to day life… certain lightings make it easier to tell in videos like jewelry store lights but no ones going into a jewelry store and comparing their moissy to a diamond side by side in real life like ever? penny1403 :

DrAtkins :  Differing opinions are allowed. Posters have had negative comments about my ring and I just chalked it up to differing tastes.

penny1403 :  Hm, since I’m a mod here I think I know what is and isnt allowed. What isnt allowed is comparing very sentimental pieces of jewelry to $0.01 plastic bags because someone else didnt like your ring. Given you know how it feels, I’m surprised you’re going around perpetuating that negativity. With that said, do not make that comparison around here again – and if you have any other questions DM me because I dont want to threadjack anymore.

I have compared my diamonds next to moissanites in stores. I have compared them next to other diamonds also. But apparently I like jewelry stores too much . fcm16 :

When Lauren B posts side by side comparisons of moissanites and diamonds on her IG, I can tell.  But I’m sure that I’ve seen a moissanite in person before and had no idea.  Probably thought, “pretty ring!” And had no idea what kind of stone it was.

I also can’t tell if a diamond is a D or an I when they aren’t side by side.

OP, get what makes you happy.

Since there are 5 pages I don’t know if you answered this or not. Are you set on a clear stone? If you find yourself really wanting a natural stone but not a diamond. What about a coloured stone?

Otherwise I think moissanite is a lovely choice. Especially if you are against diamonds. But I think at the end of the day it is up to you and your eyes. When I saw moissanite in person I liked it a lot 🙂 It was quite sparkly.

Wow this tread got vicious quickly! First no need to insult someone else’s stone just because you don’t want one and second my diamond sometimes can get a grey look in some light. OP, like I said if you really want a diamond then get one but if you truly don’t mind either way moissy May be the way to go. I also like pp suggestions if maybe seeing them in person/order one and see if you like it. Good luck 🙂

Hi everyone I’m new here engaged last year he let me pick out my own ring, in a year I’ve been thru 4 rings three diamonds one to small the other to cluster the third no sparkle SO I decided moissanite 2 carat eq I was so excited to have this ring set in a pave band over $2000 later justbrecived thenring yesterday AND I’m soooo disappointed!!! I know it is not a diamond I never planned on passing it off as one BUT also when spending a couple thousand I want it too look decent , classy etc. maybe I got a dud but my tong looks like a piece of shallow glass no depth super extra white and shallow I’ll post pics this is just my opinion so please no harsh words.

lovetwoloveme :  I feel like this happens often.  People buy from an online store and never take the time to see the stone in person.  And just like with diamonds, there are going to be duds.  Not all stones look the same.

lovetwoloveme :  hmmm I don’t think it looks bad in that first picture. Where did you get it? When I first got my moissy I didn’t like it, but then when I got out of a horribly lit room and into different lighting situations I fell in love! Here’s the first picture I ever took of it in the crappy room and then the next picture is at work:

Second pic at work:

And then here she is with my bands:

givemesparkles :  I think your stone looks great! How did you find out about the moissanite AGS 000? I didn’t even know this existed and I must’ve scrolled right past your first post and only saw it now. I am thinking of exchanging the hearts & arrows moissanite I just got since it would be the same price for the AGS 000 version. I had no idea they could cut moissanite just like an ideal cut diamond.
