Hi, new here, wanted to chime in on moissanites. Personally for me I go with moissanites. Not really for budget reasons; if I want something really badly, I’d rather save up for what I want than settle for something similar. Rather, after doing research on diamonds, I just didn’t feel like buying them was right for me. The price of moissanites were just a bonus, not to mention the way they sparkle is something I absolutely love!
I do like diamonds, but I don’t think I’ll buy any until the price of lab created ones go down or maybe preloved. When that happens, they won’t be replacing my beloved moissys, I can tell you that.
I really feel it all boils down to personal preference. If you want diamonds, get the diamonds because I don’t think you’ll ever be fully happy with moissanites. And this is coming from someone who loves moissanites!

I have both a diamond set and a moissanite set, I love them both equally. My diamond is a certified 1carat color h vvs2 and my moissanite is a 2.1 ct Harro gem crushed ice. My moissy definitely doesn’t look like a cellophane bag LOL. I say go with what makes you happy and if it’s moissanite it doesn’t cheapen your ering as another commenter said. Good luck in your decision and here are some pics of my diamond and moissy. My husbands ring is also in the pic 😜

My husband got me my engagement ring from Zen moissanite. He got me a 2.9 carat equivalent crushed ice oval with 18k yellow gold invisible gallery whisper thin setting, I must say, it is absolutely gorgeous and very similar to celebrity inspired rings such as Lorraine Schwartz! Let me attach photos for reference. Super sparkly and gorgeous, absolutely obsessed! Customer service is 10 out of 10 as well!

I was similarly questioning which one to get for my upgrade. (Original ER was diamond). Hubby got me a 1.5ct moissanite from Etsy but unfortunately while it was beautiful it looked sort of like costume jewellery on my finger. It was too big and too sparkly although I initially enjoyed the sparkle. I guess I’m one of those diamond girls. Hubby ended up getting me my dream ring which was a diamond in the end. I guess my point is that both are pretty but if your gut tells you diamond then you won’t be happy with moissy.

I have a 2.2 ct diamond and a 2.5 ct F1 c&c moissanite. I originally bought the moissy because I changed settings on my Ering and I had a spare setting and I liked the idea of a travel ring. I tend to wear my moissy day to day as I’m less concerned about chips,. Cracks, theft etc of the moissy. No one has ever suggested that they can tell when I am wearing the moissy rather than the diamond (even though it is in a complete different setting!).
That said I can definitely and easily tell the difference between the two. I personally prefer my diamond in looks. I have a tripple ex cut G colour diamond. When both stones are clean, my diamond has slightly less rainbow sparkle, but overall just as much sparkle. The sparkle of the diamond looks different too. It is less splinter and more round, I’m not sure how to best describe it. When the stones are dirty, the moissy is far more sparkly.
I’m sure you have made your choice now, and I hope you love it! As long as you don’t want the moissy to be a diamond, there is no reason not to adore it for precisely what it is. A beautiful stone.
