The website, betterthandiamond.com, has a ton of side my side comparison posts. You should check it out. I did a lot of research on the site before I finally decided that moissanite was for us.

@Kat: I’m at the site now and it seems to be about Asha’s. Can you post the link where there are pictures of moissanites and diamonds? Thanks.

I don’t have any photos, but I’ve looked at my ring (with an ehnaced moissanite set in it) right next to lots of diamonds. My stone sometimes looks slightly warmer than someone else’s ring (since it’s about H color) but other than that I’ve seen no difference.

betterthandiamond.com is mostly about asha but it has moissanite forums there too. I believe the user Ada *I think that’s her user ID* has a ton of diamonds and moissanite side by side photos. I think she has one ring that has a moissy center stone and two diamond side stones.

Another user here (for the life of me I cannot remember her name) ordered a loose moissanite to compare to her diamond in another setting and you couldn’t tell the difference because both stones were under a carat.

here’s mine. the e-ring is a diamond, and the band is moissanite. you can see in the photos that they’re totally colorless, but then again, I heard that’s not really an issue in small moissy stones.

the double refraction is really a bonus when it comes to small stones. this wedding band sparkles like it’s made of flawless diamonds.

btw: the only color difference I see here is being caused by the metal on the wedding band being newer and brighter, the metal on my e-ring is a tiny bit yellowish.

@MsYellowJacket:

That ring is stunning. Did you set the stone yourself or did you purchase the ring with both Moissys and Diamonds?

Thank you!!!  It was custom made by a local jeweler. He ordered a few unenhanced moissanite stones and I picked one for the center. Then he made the entire wedding set for us with diamonds since it was easier than him getting little moissys.

@MsYellowJacket: Your ring is one of my favorites on the Bee! I honestly had no idea that it was a moissy! Gorgeous! Another reason why I wish I would have known about moissy before spending so much on my ring…. Sigh!

@Oneeleven: yep, thanks! the e-ring is 18k white gold and hasn’t been plated in a loooong time so it’s a little warm looking. the band is 14k and brand new, so it looks bright next to the e-ring!
