I dont want to start any sort of debate on which is better, but I just want to point out that this is not exactly a fair comparision.  It sort of sounds like the diamonds in the band you got arent supurb, which could be why it cost less than half the moissonite band.

@moonadea: Oh I definitely agree that diamonds arent automatically “better” than moissy.  I hope no one truely believes that without some reserach.

what an interesting comparison! though it seems more like a VS1 compared to an I2. I think with moissanite, it’s hard to go wrong (since it’s man-made, there’s very little “bad” stock), but with diamonds, since even the crap diamonds are sold, if you don’t know what you’re doing you can end up with some really ugly duds.

I would also venture to say that the ring could probably use a good professional cleaning. If it was ordered and shipped, the people you bought it from didnt have to polish it for a showcase.

Yeah the ring looks like it needs a cleaning. Perhaps the stones in the dimaond band are not of the best quality. Your e-ring looks amazing!!

@moonadea: You have such a beautiful ring!

I have a Moissanite (unenhanced 1.5CT) e-ring Diamond band (.25CTTW, G-H color, SI) combo. Depending on the lighting, the Diamonds, though a lot smaller, actually do hold their own against the Moissanite. Direct sunlight is probably the best (they will actually give off a little bit of rainbow sparkle), mall lighting and kitchen stove lighting is okay but the Moissanite is a lot more sparkly.

It could be that you got a less than satisfactory color when choosing the diamonds, and that is why they are less sparkly than their lab-created counterpart.

no opinion on the comparison.  just wanted to say that her rings are beautiful, especially the engagement ring.

I really like the color of your centre stone. Is it a morganite? It’s beautiful.

*drooling over pink center stone*..I’m going to second the “is it morganite?” question! I’m curious!
