I voted on the right only because I can see the facets (the cuts are different) but other than that they both look incredibly similiar and both GORGEOUS!!!

Kind of blurry so hard to tell, but guessed one on right is Moissanite. Both equally as beautiful though!

I guessed that moissy was on the right because you said it was just under 1 carat..whoops, is that cheating? lol

I do agree that the cut is different from diamond, but I don’t think it “gives it away”, as some posters are saying. However, I’m getting a cushion cut, so I guess I don’t have to worry about this at all, eh?

The cut on the rounds is different. I have both kinds, I prefer the moissanite one myself but that’s my preference, i’ve never viewed diamonds as an ideal.

The cut on the moissanite isn’t a bad cut, it’s cut the best way for its mineral structure. An ideal cut diamond isn’t ideal as in “the best cut full stop” it’s ideal as in the best cut for a diamond, and even then it’s based on proportions that might not be perfect in every situation, that’s more with fancy cuts than rounds though, I prefer a wider than ideal heart or marquis cut for example.

You can tell because of the cut. But honestly no one coujld tell the difference either way. The moissanite is alittle more yellow, although I’m sure you can get whiter ones.

That’s probably why they’re coming out with the Amora H&A Gem – that is a perfectly cut amora gemstone (similar to the moissanite, only more like an F in color and perfectly cut).  Science just keeps getting better and better!!

The video was totally out of focus.  I had trouble telling by the picture, too, since there’s so much reflection going on.  Now that I’ve heard it’s the one on the right, I guess that makes sense, since that one looks like it has a flatter table.  Usually the giveaway for me is more scintillation in moissy (due to the cut), needlelike “arrows”, and a flatter table.

It is really sweet that you took time out of your day to do this. I am certain you helped a lot of people with their decision. 🙂

I could tell its the one on the right because after ordering a moissanite myself, I saw in person how it looks kind of “flat” compared to a diamond. There isn’t as much contrast and crispness as a diamond. That was what we noticed after ordering one, and subsequently sending it back. But I doubt most people would know the difference so if you like it that’s all that matters.
