So here’s my “first world problem”….as my engagement ring, I wear a moissy eternity band (due to work practicality issues). I always planned to just wear this one ring.
Surprisingly, my Fiance recently told me that he wants to buy me another ring and asked what style I liked. He said that this second one can be my “special” ring to wear outside of work and hence can be any design I like.
Now here comes the dilemma…..do we go ahead and get the amora moissanite currently available, or do you think it’s worth it to wait for the Amora Gem? What is the “real life” difference? (I have read the BTD threads about toughness, refractive index etc).
p.s. maybe I should’ve posted this to BTD LOL

@cdncinnamongirl: I think it will be a few years before you will have the option of the amora gem.

Amora moissy is pretty darn good in my book. Unless you are willing to wait a while, I would go for moissy.

Ditto the above. The Amora GEm is currently having the patent in the US reviewed and is expecting feedback from the committee sometime this summer. But unless something crazy happens you’d be waiting till 2015 for the C&C patent to expire for them to start selling.

Fiance and I decided to buy an Asha for now, then upgrade the stones when the Amora gem comes out. We’re planning on getting married in 2015, so it will be a nice pre-wedding, end of long engagement present!

I think it depends on your personal preference. I actually enjoy the warmer color and slight moodiness that moissanite can sometimes have. I have an amora, so it doesn’t really do this, but in the future I think I would get unenhanced just because it’s more interesting. So if I were you I would choose the amora!
But, if you want it to be more white etc, than wait for the amora gem
