OMG this is a NIGHTMARE!!! I feel so sorry for you. I would honestly call the credit card company and see if they can do a charge-back. This is totally unacceptable and FedEx has proof that MoCo committed fraud by the fact that the owner called to *make sure* the incorrect value had been set for the package. I’d say you have more than enough of a case to just get most of your money back and call it a day.
OP, I remember your thread about sending back your Blue Nile ring and why you had to do it. When you said you were considering MoCo as an alternative I so badly wanted to advise you to just return the BN ring for a less expensive diamond ring. I didn’t because of all the “diamond vs. moissanite” contraversy but I was worried you would end up having problems with MoCo and it looks like you have.
This company knowingly committed fraud…how does it benefit them to lie about a package like that? Meaning, an international package, knowing they would get caught? Did they do it out of spite???
Thank you for posting this and I will be watching for updates. It looks like a lot of us have learned the hard way that a lot of times when something seems too good to be true, it is.

I am so sorry! Your whole story is a NIGHTMARE!!!!
I ordered a yellow moissanite from Moissanite & Co. but after finding out that the live chat personnel lied to me about the yellow moissanite warranty (or lack thereof) and being unable to get a clear answer about if the yellow moissanite was just a yellow finish they put on the outside of the stone that would crack off, I sent the yellow moissanite back. I called in AND checked with live chat that my refund had been issued. After 31 days, I finally emailed in and the email I got back said this in verbatim:
“I am not sure what happened, but we do usually issue refunds the same day and at most within one business day. Obviously somebody made a mistake, and for that I do apologize. I just submitted the refund, and the credit should appear on your statement in a few business days.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
ChrisCustomer Service[email protected]“
I understand that mistakes are made…but the person over the phone AND the live chat person told me my refund had already been issued 31 days prior? I did end up getting the refund about 10 days after Chris wrote me back, but I will not be ordering any more jewelry from Moissanite & Co after being lied to about the warranty (which I guess doesn’t exist for their colored stones), about the process for making their “colored” stones and about my refund.
I’m sure people do have amazing experiences with Moissanite & Co, but that doesn’t mean we all do! For some reason, people on weddingbee seem to want to attack anyone who doesnt 10000% love all things Moissanite, even if there is good reason behind the way we feel. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I read your other post about your broken ring and I couldn’t believe all the peeps calling you out! I’m so sorry for this whole experience for you!

OMG I feel for you. Here is what I found address, telephone number: 702-932-4529 Firecut 5851 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146-1290
Mike Christensen is owner of moissaniteco and ashadiamonds, company goes under the name of “Firecut Diamonds” (think that’s probably corporate name)
Interesting how it’s referred to as “Firecut Diamonds” in the BBB complaints. Talk about shady. Personally I’d always be wary of buying from a place that sells their product by putting down another product… like “surprasses a diamond but is so much cheaper!!” etc. that makes the logical part of my brain go “hmmm, is that so?”.
I hope you’re able to get your money back, OP. It’s really unfortunate that you have to go through all this crap. This is totally unacceptable.

So they lie, no phone number, live chat they don’t help…..
Um are you sure this company is even selling really moissanite?!?! This just sounds like one awful train wreck!
I personally would NEVER do business with a company that has no phone # SKETCHY!
I really hope you do get your ring back soon and it is fixed! Then you never have to deal with this awful compnay… MY GOD!
I would complain to the company. They could get you in trouble! Tell them you want a refund.

Hi bees!!! Sorry about the late update; I was out with mom all day!
So Chris from customer service sent me an email saying that he sent everything to the FedEx officer I was dealing with, and that it’s up to FedEx now. FedEx is saying that since they still have an open investigation it’ll take a few weeks for the ring to get to me, but the officer says he’s going to try and clear it fast so I can have it before then.
From what all the other bees have said, Chris is probably the best guy to talk to from MCo, and I believe them. He was kind and knew exactly what to do, and didn’t bullshit me. I’m glad.
And this is no way me trying to bash moissanite (or do the whole moissanite v. diamond thing that happens here a lot). I still love my moissy ring and I probably will for the rest of my life. I also like diamond too, but I find the moissy to be remarkable, and the fire it gives off is incomparable to the diamond I once owned.
Thank you so much bees for all your support and kind words, and hopefully once my ring comes back I’ll take some pics!
The bottom line is, MCo should definitely take a lesson from other companies in customer service. What I received from the beginning was pretty sub-par, almost all the way to the end of this situation. I also hope that they screen their shipments a lot better the next time around so things like this wouldn’t happen. I was supposed to have my ring yesterday, but now I have to wait an undecided number of weeks for it to finally be in my hands again. Any engaged bee knows that when you’re separated from your ring, it’s pretty upsetting.

This was in NO WAY a mistake. I had the exact same situation happen to me and I have brought it up to moco and posted about it on a number of different forums. They are breaking the law plain and simple and there is no reason for it. Another issue I have with it is that if the value of the package is placed at $100 I would guess that the insurance is also $100. So that means if your your ring is damaged or lost you would only get $100.
I am sorry that this has happened and that they want to keep your ring for so long. When it happened to me I had to spend 4 hours at the fed ex office proving what I had originally paid for the ring, and that I had sent it back for repair, not buying a whole new ring. I ended up having to pay the customs fee for the first time the ring was brought into the country, but I got my ring that day. Moco was well aware of the situation. I sent my ring in for repair because the shank was very warped and the center stone was crooked. I was also promised a refund for the postage, which I never received. I have since been belittled by moco on here and other forums everytime I tell my story and my moco account with all my rewards points have been deleted. Not that I would ever use them anyway. I would NEVER recommend moco to anyone.

Whoa, pretty much sums up what happened to me too. I’m surprised it happened to someone else as well!
I find it a bit odd that the owner of MoissaniteCo took the time tonight to compliment a satisfied customer in another thread on her pretty new moissanite ring, but did not bother to take a moment to apologize to Akirasan here in this thread.
As a business owner myself, that would’ve been my number one priority. I actually would’ve done it a long time ago when the first thread was posted and would’ve made sure this didn’t happen instead of calling FedEx to *ensure* that the insurance was set lower than it should’ve been.
A few months back someone posted about a ring from moco that was warped almost exactly the way mine was. When I posted my storey Mike or Chris came in and were really rude to me. Saying things like “oh Sara we knew you would have to tell your story AGAIN.” They got a lot of negative feedback for this comment. I find that instead of being prfessional they often come into these forums and attack the person who is sharing their experience. I have even seen them post personal emails from a customer to prove their point. I find them to be incredibly unprofessional and personally I feel that the fact that they even respond on these threads to “protect their business” is pathetic. JMHO.
wow, that really really sucks. i’m so sorry you are going through this.
Sorry OP, that you have to go through with all this drama. I hope the ring will make a speedy return to you, but agree with other posters that MCo should compensate for this trouble.
I wish they would. I’d use the money to pay off tuition this year. But they haven’t reared their heads in this post probably because they don’t know what to say about it all and because they don’t want to issue a refund.
I talked to the live chat on Monday about possibly getting my shipping charges back, and they said I would get an email back, but still nothing.
