I hope I can get some help for this. I’m considering the design eng949a (round Hearts & Arrow F1) with possibly a 8.0-8.5mm moissanite, but not sure if it will sit flush with my eternity band (width & height of ~2-2.2mm). I also don’t know about Moco’s craftmanship especially with the double claw prong and cathedral setting. Can I please get some insights from fellow moissy wearers? Will the cathedral setting for this one be high/low/medium?
Modelling shots would be much appreciated! For reference, my finger is tiny, size 3.5-3.75.
My second question is, for a moissy this size (8-8.5), would there be significant difference between H&A F1 color D-F and G-H? I don’t want it to be stark white, but have some depth to it, but I don’t want it to be too yellowy either. I’m new to moissy so please help!
kquyenie : Few of us aren’t a fan of MoCo on here, sorry. But if you have questions about if it will sit flush, Chris could probably help you with that.
Colorless could be white, like icy. Near colorless, if you’re color sensitive you can make out the slight color. It will mostly face up white so you can’t really tell unless you look it from the side and depends on your setting. You could ask for F color? That could be the low colorless range or G?
harlequinade : thanks for your reply! I reached out to David Klass and he said I’ll have to source my own Moissanite stone. I went on C&C website but struggled to find a loose stone I wanted because their stock seems so limited, and my finger size is so small (3.5) they refused to make rings my size. I’m nervous when it comes to something coming from China to be honest..but I’ll try to ask David what he can do. I also did reach out to Joseph Schubach too but their price range seems a bit too high for us.
luckyrabbit : thanks for your insights! it’s so tricky buying online, and I live too far away from Schubach, or David Klass to check them out in person..I did read conflicting reviews about MoCo so that makes me nervous too..
kquyenie : I’ve purchased couple of rings and loose stones from Tianyu. If you’re looking for a H&A loose stone, Tianyu could get you one. And it won’t be more $200 so you won’t lose out on much if you don’t like it. And you can also return it. It’s risky returning to China, but my returns went through the first time I purchased from them.
luckyrabbit : Thank you, I’ll look into tianyu and do some research. Who would you recommend in terms of setting/making the ring? The reason why MoCo seemed attractive to me because it’s a one stop shop for me, I’m just not that comfortable or good at sourcing the loose stones then a jeweller myself..thanks again!
MoCo may not be popular on the boards, but my boyfriend ordered my engagement ring and then a couple weeks later the matching wedding band from them and he had no issues and the customer service was great. The “horror stories” aren’t the only stories out there regarding MoCo.
kquyenie : I had them make my e-ring. The funny thing is, it was originally made my MoCo. I wasn’t happy with the stone. Then I found out their other shady business with side stones. So I got a refund all together. But my Fiance had an attachment to the first, so I asked Tianyu to make a replica of it. I’m very happy. Since then I just became addicting to buying Chinese rings and moissanites b/c once you see the price differences it’s hard to go back to the more expensive North America versions, lol.
Check out the “Cheap eBay…” thread. A lot of us over there have purchased from StarsGem and Tianyu (both companies). And I can message you my sales rep’s email if you want. Be easier than going through Alibaba. The language barrier would be the tougher part.
Whoever you decide to go with, just ask them that you need the ring to sit flush with your band. And give the dimensions and picture of the band to them. They might have to adjust the setting. head slighly or you might need a small spacer. True me, I picked MoissaniteCo the first timea round b/c of their varieties of settings and cheaper pricing. They’re cheaper for a reason. There are happy customers for sure, I just wouldn’t trust them again. Maybe you can try them? Maybe they’ve gotten better and don’t want anymore bad reviews on here. Something for you to deicde.
Is this what you’re going for? It sits pretty well with their band, butyou would have to look up the dimensions of that band to see if it’s similar to yours.
luckyrabbit : wow thanks so much for the detailed response and videos. Yes I decided to go with this model after seeing a similar post on their iG. They sent me a wax model of the design to try with my eternity band but the wax ring is too big it was so hard for me to know for sure, so I may just ask Chris again.
Can you please PM me the sales rep’s contact from Tianyu? Always helps to have more information before making a decision. And your rings look beautiful by the way!
kquyenie : I have to get ready for work, but I’ll send it to you later today. I’ll send you my rep’s email and another lady’s email. The bees that uses them go between the two of them. They take the weekend off so you won’t hear back for a few days. I’ll try to find my posts and reviews about my rings from China and send them to you as well.
That model is beautiful though from MoCo. I’m contemplating getting it made, lol. I have it save in my wants folder.
luckyrabbit : Yes of course, just send them to me when can 🙂 thanks so much, I really appreciate that weddingbee is all about sharing and helping each other relieve that wedding-related stress! I’m glad you like that model too! I wasn’t umming and ahing about the double claw prongs, I”m all for elegant and classic setting, so i was deciding between this and the cartier/tiffany novo setting. Happy working!
