It looks kind of like a nail head to me which usually occurs if the cut of the stone isn’t proportional. I always thought that nailheads would be clearly visible in different angles though so I may be wrong. My hearts and arrows does not have any abnormal dark spots.

It looks like a large window, which means the stone was poorly cut. Did you get an OEC cut? Sometimes those show windows but typically not as big and dark as that.

I have the same type and size of stone as yours, and from the same source! I do sometimes see the dark spot but the only time I’ve really noticed it is when it’s really dark (just checked by looking at it under a blanket because I couldn’t see it in my living room). It has personally never bothered me just because all the sparkle distracts me even when I do see it and I’ve assumed it’s normal! Your ring is so gorgeous, by the way!

luckyrabbit :  your latest photos look alot like the windowing problem that I have (forever one round cut). Moissaniteco told me the new cuts don’t have this problem. So I’m really surprised to see this here! I know exactly what you mean about it looking all nice and sparkly and then BAM dark black spot

I’ve not seen anything in my ring like that! I just got today and looked it over to see if I would. I wear dark clothes and have darker skin and hair so I was worried.

It looks like a poorly cut moissanite. My forever brilliant moissanite does not have this. Is this a hearts and arrow cut issue?

I’m so sorry girl. It’s really upsetting to hear about. Mike responded to the other dark spot post and his response indicated to me it is a cut issue and that shouldn’t be the buyers fault. How long have you had the ring? Did you contact them? What was said?  I feel so bad that you aren’t in love with your ring

Sorry. I reread and see you did contact them and have only had it a short time. So what did they say? It makes no sense that they wouldn’t work with you if your stone isn’t making you happy
