honeybadgered : Yeah I have picked out my setting and now it is in his hands (They said it would take 4-6 weeks once they get the stone). He doesn’t want me part of the process anymore. He just moves so slow. (I am a go getter clearly) He has had the stone for 6 days!!! Move it buddy!!!! And they won’t order the setting without the stone, because they want to make sure they get the right one to fit your stone perfectly! Can’t wait to see!
I have a three stone with the H&A stones. I got it a few weeks ago now as part of an insurance replacement before they officially released them. I had to keep quiet about them initially! I do have a thread with some photos though.
I like them much better than F1 round moissanite cut and recommend them! Much more “diamond like” as well if that is important to you.
sparklesauce : oooh I’ve just emailed the jeweller I am using to see if he is aware of it or can order it in. I am seriously considering switching!! You have me so tempted by this!!! I am drooling over the pics. Thanks for sharing your info.
kayteebee : Well I don’t think you will regret it. I wish I took more pictures before handing it off to my boyfriend. I told him he had to take it and hide it from me. I couldn’t stop staring at it. It was just mezmorizing. I have never seen a F1 in person, but I don’t think I would love it more than the crown height of the H&A, and I got sick of waiting for amora gems to surface. My favorite was when the stone was in the car, and the sunshine peeped in ever so slightly. GORGEOUS! Can’t wait to see your ring!
sparklesauce : I’m just finding out about the H&A cut moissanite thanks to you lol now I’m even more confused if waiting for the AG is worth it? How was the depth of the moissanite? That’s my biggest concern with AG right now is it seems to not really have a lot of that contrast in the faucets that I love!
bklyn18 : I think the depth is perfect with the H&A moissanite. I also don’t think they fully addressed the depth issue with the new AG cut. I think the depth problem with the AG is also part of the reason it is so hard to photograph. I just loved the taller crown of the AG. Luckily, the H&A Moissanite has everything I was looking for and more. It has the right cut, faint arrows, perfect sparkle, much more affordable than the AG and more readily available and it comes with a certificate so you know just what you bought. Also, the F1 H&A limited cuts had issues with black dots in the center. These new H&A moissy’s do not have the same problem. WIN WIN!!!!! Let me know if I can be any more help 🙂
sparklesauce : I saw an AG in person and it was BEAUTIFUL in outdoor lighting or sunlit lighting but it definitely started falling a little short in the house when there wasn’t a lot of light.. sort of started just whiting out and didn’t have a lot of contrast in the faucets (did you see any of that in the H&A moissy??) I guess I just didn’t have that WOW moment you need to fall in love with the stone but I was hoping the new cut would solve the issue and it seems like it does have the same depth issues so far. I’ll definitely have to order both and try to compare them (if I can ever get my hands on a new ag). That’s good to hear though I’m definitely a quality cut person and the F1 flat table wouldn’t have done it for me either!
bklyn18 : The stone wasn’t as sparkly in normal, crappy indoor lighting, but it still had depth and sparkle…just not as much. Which is normal. I definitely don’t think you would be disappointed. I always preferred the moissanite to the AG, but loved the cut of the AG. So I think this is the best of both worlds. I wish I had indoor lighting photos, but I didn’t have the stone for a super long time before handing it over to my SO.
sparklesauce : ahh well I can’t wait til you get your ring to show everyone! It’s exciting (also overwhelming lol) there are so many more options now then even last year. Depth and cut are so important so I’m excited to check out this new cut because I agree moissanite has fixed a lot of their quirks (color/cut) which were the only reasons I was debating going with an AG. So exciting!
