@Krwise15:  it’s a nickname for moissanite. It’s just a gem that’s being used in engagement rings

@Krwise15:  instead of a diamond and sometimes with them. They’re a lot less expensive than diamonds but they have more sparkle and fire. go on youtube and search moissanite, you’ll be able to see side by side comparisons

i would suggest looking this up on your own and not opening this can of worms on the Bee.

@cirk:  Second!

OP, there are lots of threads on this. You can go to the upper right hand corner of this page to the search box to see the past threads. This is one of those topics that, unfortunately, often ends in arguments.

@Krwise15:  No biggie. Most people have never heard of moissy before coming to the bee. I didn’t, and now I own one!

@Follydust321:  I was the opposite.  I got a moissy ring and then joined the bee.  I was shocked that so many other people knew about them, loved them, and even had them.  Because Fiance and I spent 9 months trying to find the perfect ring and I just happened to stumble across moissy when researching unique ering options I figured that their existence was a well kept secret.

Moissanite is the only way to go in my opinion!  I would never buy a diamond.

@BuBuBubbles:  +1, I got engaged before I joined WB.  I honestly didn’t know moissys and diamonds were so hotly debated until I came here.

@housebee:  I think they’re only debated online.  I would like to think that most people wouldn’t say most of the things they say here in person.

No one ever responds to “He proposed!” with “Ugh, how many childeen lost limbs over that artificailly expensive waste of money?”

Likewise I doubt many would follow “We chose to go with moissanite because we love it” with “No, you chose a fake diamond and its too vad you couldn’t afford something of real quality and value”.
