1. I wanted a moissy because while I wasn’t really concerned about the ring, my Fiance refused to propose without one and I refused to let him spend thousands of dollars on a piece of jewelry, even if he could afford it. I researched moissy and thought it would be a great balance. Inexpensive, still beautiful and durable.

2. After comparing pics (mostly on here, the bee was so helpful) I liked the “buttery” colorful tones of the forever brilliant, so that is what I decided on.

3. It’s a three stone. Middle stone is 1ct equivalent and side stones are .25ct equivalent each. Stones on the band I’m not sure. It’s 2mm wide and 14K white gold.

4. Fiance purchased my ring from MoissaniteCo (I heard great things about it, again from the bee). He proposed June 24, 2016, so I’ve had it for about 8 months now.

5. I don’t use anything special to clean it. Usually when I wash my hands I use a nail brush to gently scrub off any dirt or grime. I’ve used dawn + the nail brush and it sparkles like crazy after.

6. At first I was careful, but I almost lost it once after taking it off to clean and I didn’t want to risk that again. I wear it all day, everyday. No matter what I’m doing. Not a mark on the stones, but the white gold does have a few scratches in the back.

7. I’m still in love with it. It sparkles just as much as the day he proposed, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I don’t plan on “upgrading” either. And if I did, I would “upgrade” to another moissy, maybe a different setting. I don’t go out of my way to tell people it’s a moissy, but I’m not ashamed. If they ask I tell them what it is, how reasonable the price was, and how everyone who has ever seen it says it’s the “most beautiful diamond they’ve ever seen” even though it isn’t a diamond.

This inside Walmart under their lights…

This is outside under trees in the summer. Love those rainbows!

Sorry for such a long post! I know when I was searching for my ring or had questions I wanted as much details as possible!

1. Why did you want a moissy?

HONESTLY, THE PRICE IS WHAT SOLD ME. I WANTED SOMETHING FAIRLY SIMILAR TO A DIAMOND, BUT WOULDN’T BREAK THE BANK FOR A YOUNG COUPLE JUST STARTING OUT.

2. What kind of moissy do you have (F1, FB, NEO, etc.)?

I HAVE A VERY INEXPENSIVE INDIA MOISSANITE FROM eBay.

3. What are the specs?

EMERALD CUT, 1.5 CT, H COLOUR, VVS1 CLARITY.

4. Where did you purchase it?

EBAY.

4. How long have you had it?

ABOUT A MONTH.

5. How do you clean it? How often? What are your best products or tips/ recommendations?

I CLEAN IT ONCE A WEEK WITH A BABY TOOTHBRUSH AND DAWN DISH SOAP. IT WORKS GREAT!

6. Do you abuse it? How is it holding up (scratches, damage, or is it still perfect)? Do you wear it all the time or are you gentle to it?** I’m really curious about this one, I am not the most delicate ;D

I AM A TOTAL KLUTZ. THIS RING HAS SURVIVED SEVERAL SMACKS AGAINST COUNTERTOPS, DOOR FRAMES AND FILING CABINETS. IT STILL LOOKS PERFECT. I USUALLY TAKE IT OFF WHEN COOKING, CLEANING, SLEEPING, WORKING OUT AND SHOWERING BECAUSE I’M PARANOID.

7. Please share anything else: do you love it as much as you did day 1, any regrets? Do you tell people it’s a moissy? etc. etc. Don’t hold back share it all…

I LOVE THIS RING SO MUCH! AMAL CLOONEY WAS MY RING STYLE INSPIRATION, AND I LOVE THAT I GOT A SIMILAR RING FOR MUCH LESS MONEY! NO REGRETS!!

1. Why did you want a moissy?

Cost, mainly. I’m a pretty frugal person and there was no way in heck I was gonna ask my Fiance to spend more than 1500 on a ring, but I also wanted a specific look that in diamond prices would have been a pretty penny. I’ve never liked the diamond industry and how they have had a chokehold on the romance business for the last century. I thought about colored stones for a while (I love Garnet, my birthstone) but I wanted something durable and cost effective. I did love the traditional white stone look as well. Hence, moissanite!

2. What kind of moissy do you have (F1, FB, NEO, etc.)?

I have a near colorless emerald moissanite from MoissaniteCo. It’s the same material as F1 but it’s not the Charles and Colvard brand, it was sourced through MoCo.

3. What are the specs?

Center stone is an 8×6 (1.5ish ct equiv) emerald cut, all the side stones are 1.5mm round moissanite stones.

4. Where did you purchase it?

Fiance got it from MoissaniteCo.com

4. How long have you had it?

Since the end of November, 2016!

5. How do you clean it? How often? What are your best products or tips/ recommendations?

I clean it with soap and water when I wash my hands and there’s an air dryer available, and if it needs an extra scrub I use a Diamond Dazzle stick I got at Target. It makes it super shiny!

6. Do you abuse it? How is it holding up (scratches, damage, or is it still perfect)? Do you wear it all the time or are you gentle to it?** I’m really curious about this one, I am not the most delicate ;D

I wear it nearly all the time, but I have an Enso silicone ring I wear while sleeping, showering, doing dishes, pretty much any time I wouldn’t want to wear my regular ring. It does get knocked around a little bit at my job, but I always check it for scratches, chips, etc. and haven’t found any yet!

7. Please share anything else: do you love it as much as you did day 1, any regrets? Do you tell people it’s a moissy? etc. etc. Don’t hold back share it all…

I definitely love it as much as day 1, even more now! No regrets whatsoever! My close friends know because I raved about it before we purchased it, but my parents don’t because they’ve never directly asked.

As far as negative comments go, once a rude old lady at my job asked “what’s that stone in your ring, it sparkles too much, if I didn’t know any better I’d say it was…. something else.” (accompanied by rabid staring at my finger). I told her it’s a moissanite and that I love it. Her sour face was so priceless! Like, what exactly is your beef with my jewelry? That it sparkles too much? That it cost less than yours? That I love it? I don’t understand people πŸ˜› Other than that one time I’ve gotten nothing but compliments!

1. I wanted a moissanite because I could get a larger and equally beautiful stone for a great price

2. I have a unbranded hearts and arrows cut in a solitaire setting. And my 7 stone band has F1 round brilliants

3. The specs are 2 carat E color VVS1 clarity, my band is .70 ctw with 7x 3mm stones. I’m a size 4

4. It was purchased from moissaniteco.com

5. I’ve had it about 3 months

6. I clean it every couple of days. I use a jewelry cleaning brush and original dawn dish soap. Let it soak for a bit then scrub and rinse.

7. I’m not gentle with my rings at all. They almost never come off unless I’m handling raw meat. I’ve banged my moissy on several things and it’s still in perfect shape.

8. I have zero regrets!! I love it 😍 and yes I tell people it’s a moissanite if the situation is appropriate. My close friends and family know what it is but if a stranger compliments it I  just say thank you.

1. Why did you want a moissy?

Because I could get the size stone and specifications I wanted without having to go 10k+ in debt for a ring.

2. What kind of moissy do you have (F1, FB, NEO, etc.)?

I have a F1

3. What are the specs?

It’s a 7mm (1.25ct) F1 Round in a 14kt rose gold bezel setting size 6.75 finger

4. Where did you purchase it?

Moissanite Co

4. How long have you had it?

2 months

5. How do you clean it? How often? What are your best products or tips/ recommendations?

I usually line a bowl with aluminum foil and use hot water and Windex. Let us soak til the water is cold then rinse.

6. Do you abuse it? How is it holding up (scratches, damage, or is it still perfect)? Do you wear it all the time or are you gentle to it?** I’m really curious about this one, I am not the most delicate ;D

The entire reason I switched to a bezel is because I am SUPER rough on my rings. I’m constantly running my hand into stuff. The gold has some light scratches, but nothing too bad. The stone is perfect. I wear my ring 24/7 another reason I love the bezel. There’s nothing to snag.

7. Please share anything else: do you love it as much as you did day 1, any regrets? Do you tell people it’s a moissy? etc. etc. Don’t hold back share it all…

I have no regrets. I wish I would’ve gotten it to begin with instead of spending entirely too much. If anyone asks me about it, I’m completely honest about what it is, but I don’t go out of my way to tell people about it (unless I’m on here lol)

1. Why did you want a moissy?

I wanted a moissy because my firstmarriage I had a diamond that was very expensive and when I got divorced and sold it, the amount I received sucked. I found out about Moissanite on WB and told my now wife about it back when we were dating. Did not realize she had actually been listening.

2. What kind of moissy do you have (F1, FB, NEO, etc.)?

I have a FB Moissanite. I love the buttery color it has.

3. What are the specs?

It’s a 8mm (1.9 ct center) with .3 carat side stones in 14 kt white gold on a size 4.5 finger size 5 ring and bands
4. Where did you purchase it?

Charles and Colvard before they got rid of this size. They now carry the smaller version.
4. How long have you had it?

Since September 2nd, 2016.
5. How do you clean it? How often? What are your best products or tips/ recommendations?

I clean it once every 2 weeks with Something New Jewelry Cleaner. You can cleaning anything with it. Silver, Opals, Pearls, Costume Jeweley, Gold, Diamonds, Emeralds. It’s very safe and Sparkles like crazy.
6. Do you abuse it? How is it holding up (scratches, damage, or is it still perfect)? Do you wear it all the time or are you gentle to it?** I’m really curious about this one, I am not the most delicate ;D

I’ve bumped it a few times  but I honestly baby it. Im sort’ve nervous to knock it out or pull the prongs.
7. Please share anything else: do you love it as much as you did day 1, any regrets? Do you tell people it’s a moissy?

I adore my ring. I honestly love it as much as day 1. So much so that I want a 3 ct solitaire but ill be good. My wife loves it so much that we got her ring made by Charles and Colvard as well. 1.5 ct oval Moissanite in 14kt white gold. I will include her ring under mine. My friends and family know it’s a Moissanite. If someone asks, I don’t lie but I’ve only had 1 person ask.

My ring first…

My wife’s band.

1. Multiple reasons. 1) I don’t see the point in spending thousands of dollars on a ring. 2) It’s just as strong (if not stronger) than a diamond, so it’s suitable for everyday wear. 3) It’s crazy sparkly!

2. FB

3. 1ct/6.5mm (with 16 sidestones on a 2mm palladium band)

4. MoissaniteCo.com

4. Since April, so 10 months

5. I just use a diamond cleaning solution from Target about once a month. Here’s what MoissaniteCo recommends: https://www.moissaniteco.com/care.html

6. I wear my ring 24/7, and I’m not that gentle either. My ring and moissy have held up very nicely. I don’t notice any scratches at all.

7. I absolustely love my ring just as much now as I did on day 1! It’s absolutely perfect! I don’t tell everyone it’s moissy, but I’m very open about it. I’m not embarrassed by it or anything; I actually am proud to have a moissy and not be contributing to the diamond industry.

1. A couple reasons here too. I love that I could actually have my dream ring for such a wonderful price. Additionally, having (then selling) a large diamond engagement ring from a prior relationship, I was so soured with the price you pay for diamonds that ultimately are worth a small fraction of what you pay πŸ™

2. FB

3. 9.5mm/4.5(ish) CT equivalent cushion on a 1.5mm prong set band in 14k rose gold

4. It’s a custom setting from a local jewler. About a year and a half.

5. I use a co.bination of baby toothbrush, dawn, and a norwex rag to shine her up beautifully:)

6. I too wear my ring 24/7. I don’t notice any warping, scratches, dents, chips, etc. It looks like the day I received it.

7. I love my ring as much as I did the day I got it. I never felt this awe struck by my previous diamond ring, as this one is truly my dream ring and captivates me quite literally πŸ™‚ I tell anyone that asks and my family and friends. I get nothing but compliments and have been quite the trend setter in my area  with more and more people I know seeking out moissanite as an alternative. Love πŸ™‚
