I got mine from Lord of Gem Rings on eBay. Honestly, the ring is fantastic and well-made, but the moissy appears to be from an older batch since it seems to be a little less white than the current MoissaniteCo and Charles & Colvard gems. Personally it doesn’t bother me that much since it is still incredibly sparkly and white in most lights, it just has a tone to it sometimes. Wherever you get the moissanite, make sure that the documentation comes with it (confirm in advance for 3rd party sellers like LoGR). I have never had a side diamond fall out, although I have heard that people who have ordered from MoissaniteCo have had issues with that. I think it is fine to get a local jeweller to set it, but moissanite requires a slightly different setting tension to diamond, from memory, so if possible it’s a good idea to get someone who is used to working with moissanite.

One thing I really like about moissy is that it doesn’t seem to fog up and get dirty like many other alternatives. I take my ring everywhere and it stays very clean and sparkly with a minimum of effort from me. Based on the amount of times I have bashed my ring into things and it has stayed perfectly whole, it’s also pretty durable. I know some people who spend as much on yearly insurance as I did for my whole ring and still leave it locked in a safe most of the time, which seems kind of sad. I’m extremely happy that I can take my ring everywhere with me (gym, swimming, washing dishes, etc.) and it wouldn’t be a huge deal if I had to get a replacement.

I got a solitaire from mossinateco. I really love it and feel it was well made And it really does sparkle like crazy !Sometimes the color bothers me (it’s a 7.5 mm FB OEC)  but I would rather take the color and keep my antique cut. I also ordered a .15 point 3/4 eternity band from them by haven’t recived it yet.

I think it’s cheaper to order online but it would be nice to have a relationship with a local jewler Incase something goes wrong.

I had my e-ring custom made at Joseph Schubach Jewelers in Scottsdale, AZ. Highly recommend them. They are known for hand picking some of the best stones. There’s a bit of a range in quality (mainly cut, since they are cut by hand) – so I trusted Beth at Schubach’s to pick the best for me!

Penang1885:  I love my ring from Schubach’s! It’s an OEC so it has the chunkier facets and more vintage look. I’ve only had it since April, but none of my tiny side diamonds have fallen out. I do need to get the insurance, though, just in case.

Sorry for the ridiculously large picture, but my ring is from moissaniteco.com. I really cannot say enough good things about them. When I first got the ring there was a weird shadow on the stone that I could see in certain lights. I emailed the company and Chris, one of their reps, got back to me right away and said this was a common issue…caused by leftover residue. He sent a cloth called the sunshine cloth and said that if that didn’t help they would gladly replace the stone. Luckily the cloth did the trick!

My moissy is a 1 ct FB and I hardly ever notice it any other color but bright white 🙂

Here’s my baby 😉 1.25 ct. fb OEC center stone, in a palladium setting. From MCo. My wedding band JUST got here and I can’t open it yet, I’m dying….ha. We ordered it from MCo as well. LOVE my stone, and ring. Good luck choosing yours, the OEC’s are really beautiful, but I may be a bit biased haha.

hwo0801:  Wait, I’m confused. Didn’t you already have another ring your Fiance got you? And then he gave you the heirloom ring, right? Why not just wear the original ring he proposed with if you’re afraid of losing the heirloom. You last mentioned that he was upset that you didn’t like the original ring he proposed with and now you want a third ring? Sounds like you’re after a bigger stone overall so I would just be honest with your Fiance and find something to do with the other rings so his feelings don’t get hurt and you’ll be happy.

hwo0801:  Aww, that’s a good idea. I’m sure the necklace will be beautiful! Glad you figured it out. I totally understand the need for a stand-in. I’m looking for one too.
