1.  I bought my ring whole.

2.  My setting is with moissanite side stones.

3.  My stone looks radiant and sparkling next to a diamond.  Diamonds just kind of look like a block of ice to me.  I love that my moissanite glimmers and sparkles and moves with the light.

4.  I don’t automatically tell people, but I do tell them as a part of a conversation about it.

1. Did you buy your whole ring or just a loose stone?

We bought the whole ring based on a sample they had, but the ring was custom made. I got to see the stone before the ring existed.

1a. If you bought a loose stone did you have it put in a setting with diamonds?

We didn’t buy it loose but it is on a setting with diamonds and sapphires!

1b. How does it look next to the diamond? Can you tell the difference?

You really can’t tell. I have always been very vocal about NOT wanting a diamond and everyone who has seen it has told me I caved and got a diamond.

2. Do you tell people what it is? I’d be inclined to, mostly bc I’m a blabber mouth 🙂

If it comes up I mention it. I’m not ashamed at all, I LOVE my moissanite! It is even shinier and more beautiful than a diamond IMO, plus it was way more cost effective which was important to me.

I have a picture of my actual ring, but if you’re looking for the diamond settings, let me show you what the setting looks like without customization.

@mamadingdong:  There are plenty of girls here who have moissanite with with diamond settings – if you search for moissanite plenty of threads with pictures will pop up.  From what I’ve seen in pictures, it doesn’t look weird in a diamond setting.  You can definitely tell the difference between diamonds and moissanite when you compare them side by side – moissanite has way more fire!  (That’s comparing two comparable sizes, not a big moissanite center stone and small pave diamonds.)
