Hi Someday! Well, I have un-enhanced moissy and an Amora moissy, and my amora is definitely a better color than my un-enhanced. I would go with either Amora or FB for your center stone. I also recommend the 8mm if you are even thinking that you might want bigger than 7.5mm, as shrinkage is a problem many of us suffer from down the road. =)

I have a 5mm unenhanced Moissy, and it definitely has some warmth – it varies from stone to stone though. I don’t mind it at all. I wouldn’t mind a completely colorless stone or the one I have now.

If you like warmth, save some money and go unenhanced! If you’re at all nervous you could always order some loose stones and see the differences for yourself.

From what I’ve read, if you go bigger than 1ct you will want an enhanced stone. Amora is scarce right now so you might need to go with FB if you want your ring soon. I’m not sure if BTD will be producing any more amora moissanite since they are starting production on their amora gem. I’ve seen some FB stones on the bee and they very white to me.

I went with a smaller stone but Amora enhanced.

@plpinkinsa2001:  They said they will produce more Amora moissanite until the Amora Gem comes out in 2015 (or if they can re-appeal C&C patent on it) BTD (who puts the Amora enhancement on Moissanite Co’s amora moissanites) is currently moving facilities so they are a bit behind. They should be ready to make more around December.

My Amora Moissanite is beauuuuuuuutiful. It shows warmth occasionally, and I actually prefer that than when it’s bright white on a cloudy day outside!

To my knowledge, BTD have loosened the criteria for the stones that receive the Amora treatment to keep up with demand, so they may not be as white now as they used to be!

I have to find the exact link of a side by side, but I looked on moissanite co at pics of Amora and FB, shrunk both windows, and viewed side by side — no difference. I have a 1.25 ct FB, because Amora was out of stock, and I am thrilled. It is so white and sparkly. Next to my friend’s Amora, it looks identical.

Amora seems to be more hyped than FB, when in reality, the quality is the same. Plus, Amora is a competitor to FB, so what you read on betterthandiamond/whatever, is biased as hell.

The one closer to my knuckle is the unenhanced 6.5 mm. The one in the real setting is amora enhanced 6.5mm

@elle_z:  I agree with you 100%! I ordered an Amora round last May and order a Forever Brilliant this May and the Forever Brilliant, in my humble opinion, is even brighter with no warmth at all it seems. I’ve looked at it in all lighting, overcast weather, sunny weather, you name it and no warmth but just clear, bright and amazing sparkle. The Amora, while bright and sparkly, did in fact show warmth a bit at times. So, to me….it was WAY worth SAVNG the money to go with the FB!!! I love mine and wouldn’t trade it even if they gave me the Amora for FREE in all honesty. Now, the Amora is simply beautiful also but I am quite surprised at how clear and white my FB is ALL the time. Wink
