For all you brides out there that aren’t close with your fathers, but are close with your mothers — are you doing a mom-daughter dance? If so, would you do it at the same time as your fiance’s dance with his mother? Any song choices? I was thinking Natalie Merchant’s “Thank You.”

I was considering doing a Mother-Daughter dance. But then would my Fiance dance with his dad? I was also thinking of dancing with his dad, while he danced with my mom. But I think that kind of isn’t the point, right?
My father passed away when I was 17, so this is something I’ve been mulling over for 15 years! What to do?

I’m not doing a mother-daughter dance. But if I was the perfect song would be: Carrie Underwood – Mama’s Song.

I think I am going to do a mother daughter dance as well. If so it will be to In my daughters eyes by Martina Mcbride. Always kinda been our song so it would have to be that, but then I think it might be odd to slow dance with my mom?? Who knows if we will actually do it or not? Good Luck!

I don’t mean to offend anybody who is thinking of doing this on their wedding day, just offering up another suggestion. Maybe dedicating a song to your Mom’s would be a better way to honor them.
I am close to my Mom but can’t imagine slow dancing with her. I think it might be kind of akward to watch as a guest, my Dad is gay so I’m not saying that because I’m homophobic or anything it just seems unusual to me. If it’s something you really want though and are comfortable with you should do what will make YOU happy, I just wouldn’t.

We I know my daughter would not want to slow dance with me, but we will do a hip hop dance…lol

I’ve seen it done, ends up being more of a crying, hugging, rocking back n forth. If you feel that way, do it. I’m sure your guests will know why you’ve chosen o do it, know ur relationship and cheer opu on!
