Everytime I see your dress I go wow!

It’s your dress and your day.

@KathPuj:  I think that is a good plan. If your mom sees her dream dress on you, it may not end up being all she thought it would be, and in turn might make her more supportive of the dress you chose. And if you like the dress she likes? Well you might get a nice mother-daughter moment. But your mom told you to pick the dress you like. Believe her! When you are standing there on your wedding day in your dress, I can almost guarantee she won’t be thinking “if only she had worn that other dress..” she’ll be thinking about and telling you how beautiful you are! Don’t worry too much about this. And good luck!

My Mom also likes traditional gowns I find boring, I knew before this wedding we had very different taste in style so I didn’t expect her to love my dress and I am ok with that. At the end of the day the only peoples opinion who matters is yours and your husbands. If you know it’s going to effect your mood stop asking for her input.

@KathPuj:  I’m glad you found your dress. I really like the way you’re going to compromise with your mom by covering up the skirt for the ceremony. You looked too beautiful in that dress to not get it. Hope the rest of your planning goes well.

Luckily, YOU are wearing that amazing dress on your wedding day and not your mother! LOL… You’ll be gorgeous!

My mother thinks my dress is way too plain. This bothered me terribly for, like, a day. But do I want to look like her, or like me?

It’s a gorgeous dress, and she’ll love you in it. She’ll come around.

I have the exact same dress and in sorta the same situation! my parents like the dress..but its the sash they hate. They think it should be white……but the sash brings everything together.. especially the beadwork.. UGH! whatever.. it’s your day, and YOUR dress.. don’t let it bring you down. The skirt to me has a wintery feel.. which is why I loved it. You look beautiful in it and you will look beautiful on your wedding day… you can’t please everyone!

I tried this dress on again recently and covered over the sash with a white ribbon; it didn’t seem to make the waistline as defined. Kind of just blended everything together . I think if I get this dress I will go with the greyish sash, and instead of having it hang down the front witll have it sewn in to be just around the waist so it doesn’t hang. But the dress is so beautiful!

@Jshedrick84:  I was planning on putting a white sash too! I’m glad I saw this post. My parents really dislike the grey….. but I think it goes well with the beading. And grey is one of my wedding colours. I was thinking with a thicker white sash. I can’t wait until it comes in!

Can you post a picture after your fittings!? I would LOVE to see this dress with a simple skirt/detachable one. I’m considering this one as well 🙂
Love the bodice!!!
