Overjoyed: you’re wondering what do to about this last instance? Call the police and report her. Dead serious. She has not had any consequences for her illegal behavior up until this point. You are allowed to treat this like you would if any other person did this to you.

I know a lot of posters are telling you to go to the police. I would tell you to do this if I didn’t know how charming your mom can be and how convincing she will be when she tells the police some heartbreaking story about everything she’s done for you, how it’s all in your best interests, how really she should be given the Mom of the Year award but you’re just being so difficult and goimg through a rough time right now so she doesn’t want to press charges against YOU blah blah blah Because you asked her to forge that signature so she could cash the check for YOU…
I could be wrong though and they would see through her. Dunno.

I didn’t read everyone’s responses, but I wanted to pass this along. There is a way to rent a business address. There are places that rent out office or conference space by the day/week/month. But you can also rent the business address. It’s not a PO box. It will be a ‘Suite #’
I’ve also heard people will rent a PO Box, but put Apt # or Suite # just to get around that silly rule.

If it’s been a few weeks, I don’t think there will be any police or security issues over the cheque – and if the worst case scenario of poking that beehive with a stick is you lose your career? I’d let it alone.
Double, triple and quadruple plan everything so you do not ever need anything from your mother, ever. 🙁 sorry that sucks, bee, but honestly – stop thinking her “help” is ever an option. For anything.
