Maybe a nice picture of our first skin contact. But that’s it.

@sourcandy:  She didn’t know she wasn’t supposed to? Which was not true. We had a direct conversation about it.

@aliavenue:  Wow, the nerve.  If it were me, I certainly wouldn’t be telling her about the birth of the next baby until we were home from the hospital.

I am not pregnant but my sister is a nurse that works in labor and delivery and I asked her about “birth photographers”.  She said her hospital has recently banned any photographing or videotaping during the actual birth.  She said she (and other nurses) found it very hard to do her job with extra people in the room.  She said it’s hard enough when you have moms and MILs in the room, and one extra person really does make a big difference.  Plus, in her experience, the photographers are so caught up in catching the moment, that she is constantly having to ask them to move and many times they don’t!  She had one patient need an emergency c-section and they had to wheel her into the next room only to have a photographer ask them to stop so she could take some pictures.  The doctors had a fit and it really made for a tense time for the patient and her husband.

She said there’s also been a few times when the nurses need to take the baby to the NICU immediately and the photographer is trying to take pictures.

Needless to say, my sister is not a fan at all.  I personally don’t want anyone else there but my husband so it’s a big no for me too.

I clicked on the first link and couldnt get beyond the names of these children. Crosby? MADISYN? Thats not a child’s name, that’s what the lady in the back of the Village Voice offering body rubs calls herself.
