Ok, so here goes. My mom just sent me a beautiful dress that she is thinking about for the wedding (FMIL already told me she wants a dress in the same exact color as my girls – she is sorely mistaken but that’s another issue). My mom wants to have a dress that’s “ice pink” and the girls will be in garnet. Definitely the same color scheme/color family, but not the same color. What do you bees think of this? She said it would definitely match better for pictures. I am not one of those brides who wants to put ‘maids n’ moms in dresses and colors that are unflattering to them, so I want them to have something they like and looks good on them (I just hope to avoid color clashing) – but I don’t think that ice pink would necessarily color clash with garnet dresses. All thoughts are welcome – thanks! 🙂
P.S. If my mom is in ice pink, what do we put Future Mother-In-Law in? I know she certainly won’t be wearing garnet like the girls even if it is ‘her best color.’ 🙂

go with it! My mom wore a complimentary dress as well. She wasnt in the photos with them but she didnt want to clash at all. Future Mother-In-Law was in a totally opposite color. I wouldnt worry about hers, Id just ask her to not wear anything in that color bc you want to distinguish the BMs. How irritating, my Future Mother-In-Law tried telling me she was wearing ivory to our wedding…

So if my BMs are in garnet, my mom is in ‘ice pink’… what color do you think would be good for FMIL?
I am not one of those girls who is great at putting things together color wise so any thoughts are greatly appreciated. 🙂

How about a deep dusty rose color? It would be a good bridge between the lighter pink and the deep red.

OooOOoooo I like that thought! Thanks!

I agree with the Rose red; I also think a deep royal or dark blue would look awesome as well!

I think it will look nice. Why not? 🙂
ETA: I would ask Future Mother-In-Law to go with something in the same color family, as well, so she doesn’t feel left out (like the dark rose suggested earlier). But I’ve found it’s *very* difficult to control mothers’ dress choices. 😉

I agree with the dusty rose idea! As long as they’re all in the same color family it should all look nice.

Both my mom and future mother in law are going to be in the blue family… I think matching colors looks nice! My brother just got married and bridesmaids and both mom’s wore black, it looked terrific!
