I got a barbie car when I was 3, and it was the best thing ever. Good gift to go with ๐Ÿ˜‰

@7-9-11bride: I’m totally wondering if they voted that for fun ๐Ÿ˜‰

If we have a newborn next Christmas, we likely will be spending MUCH less than 100. I figure baby doesn’t know the difference, anyway – and will be spoiled by my family (DH family doesn’t do holidays). I might use it as an opportunity to buy things I/we need (cloth diapers, onesies, big toy) since s/he won’t know any better yet ๐Ÿ™‚

We have a teenager, so there is no option of getting away with inexpensive toys. LOL. His big gift this year is for both Christmas and his birthday, a compound bow with all of the accessories. That is going to set us back about $500-600, but it should be well worth it. He is a natural, and it’s one of the few things that can really get him to focus. We’ll also do all of his traditional Christmas gifts on top of the bow, so he will get his ornament, new PJs, at least 1 book, a nutcracker, and a stocking filled with smaller stuff (e.g. Magic/Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon cards, a Bionicle, ITunes gift card, Amazon gift card for his Kindle, etc.).

Probably about 300 this year for our son, he’s 2. We are spending about 75-100 for each nephew and niece which is 325-400 total. So for the chilren this year about 625-700, give or take. We also have three birthdays for our nephews and nieces, this time of year, so we really need to stick to our budget.

We’ve always gotten our son alot for christmas, as we don’t get him too many toys all year except birthdays, and the occasional holiday. Besides books, and little things here and there.

We got him a firehouse dollhouse, and its pretty amazing. It was only 79 bucks at costco! Sooo excited to give it to him! ๐Ÿ™‚

There was always a nice Christmas stocking, one “nice” gift and several smaller gifts. I have never spent a lot on Christmas, I tended to spend more on the birthday gifts. I tried to place the focus on the celebrating, NOT the gifts.
