My almost 11 month old has been going to bed at 8:30 pm every night for the last 4 months. She wakes up at 7:00-7:20 am, which is the ideal time for us. I think if I put her to bed later, she would wake up earlier and I wouldn’t like that. I also think (and Ferber confirms it) that it is the amount of time babies sleep and not exactly when they sleep that is essential (obviously, it should be at night). That being said, being consistent is key to good sleep. So once you’ve decided on 8:30 as bedtime, I suggest sticking to it by all means. You can clean the kitchen after baby is in bed and have a glass of wine, while you are at it :))

My 6 month old goes to bed at 7:30 pm and gets up at 7 am. My 21 month old does as well.

Our son is 8 months old and we aim to start his bedtime routine between 7:30pm and 8:30pm, most nights at around 8pm-8:15pm. He’s pretty much asleep by 9pm and he wakes up between 7:30pm and 8:30pm unless we have to wake him up to take him to daycare (not every day). This is typical, but when he is teething or when he has had a cold or something else is bugging him (soiled diaper for example) he will wake up earlier.
