We found out at the ultrasound – I didn’t want to know but my husband did so I felt bad and we asked to be told halfway through the ultrasound. We aren’t the tellingnanyone in real life so it will still be somewhat of a surprise. It’s a boy – everyone thinks it’s a girl:)

I’m pregnant with #2 and I plan on finding out. For #1 I found out but my husband didn’t. I think I really just want to do a gender reveal with a cake 🙂 Not a party or anything, just us and maybe our parents. I love the idea of finding out that way! I have a feeling this one is a girl – we had a boy first and I felt it was a boy the whole time!

We found out at almost 13 weeks at our NT scan. I had a feeling it was a boy (we really want one of each). The ultrasound technician asked if we wanted to know. Before she answered I said to myself “boy.” It was! 🙂

skunktastic :  same !! My least favourite colour is pink and I am not really stereotypically girly (never played with dolls, dreamed of my wedding, into makeup, fashion, etc). I hate the barbie section at ToysRUs and usually give it a wide berth.

We chose to not find out the gender though because, why not?Our doctor told us the tech isnt allowed to tell us so I didnt bother saying anything when we went for our 20wk scan.

Should have though because the tech just blurted it out, ” …and here is the heart, lungs, liver and its a boy.” due sept5.

Oh well. We suspected it was and were really struggling to come up with girl names anyway.

Congrats !!

Oh and I’ll mention that EVERY single old wive’s tale pointed to a girl for us. I was also convinced it was a girl because I had HORRIBLE morning sickness for about 7 weeks. Constant nausea and vomiting every single day.

Congrats!!  I found out last week that I’m having a little girl!!  Due September 16th- SO excited!! I think that pretty much all of life is a surprise, so I really wanted to know!!  We are so excited- we already had a girl name picked out but had no idea what to name a boy, so I guess it worked out!  There are so many cute little girl and little boy clothes- but not a lot that would go for either.  I’ve been having fun shopping!  My friend is team green and also due in September and has been struggling with finding cute clothes!  I found an adorable outfit (bought it for my girl as well) to give her for a shower gift, but you definitely have to really search hard for them!

lula0508 :  I really don’t like gender reveals or gender reveal parties. It’s a strange phenomenon that is a huge step back in this day and age when we should be embracing our differences and moving away from placing children and adults in stereotypical boxes. What colour do we use for intersex babies?

I think it is extremely importnat that we use the correct terminology, perhaps we will then realize how silly a sex reveal party truly is.

lula0508 :  My good friend chose to find out the gender of her 2nd baby. She did not do this for her first (a boy). When she found out the gender this time, another boy, she chose not to do a shower/buy anything new. Just had her baby on Tuesday… It’s a girl. LOLOLOL We are all dying laughing b/c she really wanted it to be a girl so we think she willed it true after the ultrasound.

lula0508 :  They did a hormone check as well and it came up boy. It was VERY shocking and they had to rush a DNA test again for her and it then came up female. They are attributing it an error on the first test. I’ll have to ask her more specific about the ultrasound but apparently it’s only 95% accurate
