Ballet513:  I actually see this as how it will probably go for us. I’m glad it works. Also I’m sort of counting on ‘Sunday- mommy has a long bath and sleeps in’ being a ritual.

I’mnot exactly in your boat, but i have a colicky three month old, and my husband works up north 1/2 the month, so half the month i am a single mom. I guess you just make it work, and i think a lot of times you are way stronger than you think. I personally would be thrilled if i could be home a little more, but c’est la vie. He works that job so i can stay home, and so we can afford our lifestyle. Not sure if thats helpful, but maybe just helpful to know your not alone?

When I was pregnant with my Dear Daughter, my Darling Husband was working a typical 40 hour per week job, but also trying to start his own business on top of it…so that meant he also worked MANY evenings and weekends.

When my Dear Daughter was born, he did take a couple weeks off, but then was right back at working like crazy. Honestly, I did miss him a lot, but it wasn’t that bad (on me). Being at home with baby was my only “job” for the first year of her life, so I didn’t find it too hard to look after her, keep up on the house cleaning, shopping, etc, and have supper ready every night. I enjoyed it actually…

I did feel very bad for him because he wanted to be around Dear Daughter so much more. Now that he only works for himself (still 40+ hrs a week), he gets to spend much more time with Dear Daughter, who is now two and a half, and they have a great relationship. Mind you, she is very much a mama’s girl, but she LOVES spending time with her daddy.
