Well it told me being unemployed going to a “traditional” wedding I should give about $345 for a relative in California (500+ miles away)… I think not

Uhhh, no. I don’t think it is accurate.  I may make a lot of money on paper but me and the Darling Husband have a lot of debt and the flight to get to the wedding is expensive.  It told me I should give them $260.  Uhhh, we can’t afford that.  Since the Darling Husband is the best man, I know we will be paying for bachelor party expenses and his wedding attire.  For close friends, I will give betwen $150-$175, depending upon what we can afford. For not close, friends I’ll will always give at least $100.

This calculator is assuming a lot of things.  I wanna know what formula they used to calculate my gift.  I’m sorry, it’s a bunch of BS to me.

I actually think it’s a bit on the low-end. I attended my close friend’s wedding last month at a Rtiz Carlton in Southern California as a couple and the suggested gift is $215. We gave $350. Still, it’s rather fun to play with the calculator!
