@eocenia:  traditionally monograms are three letters. Your Initial – last name initial and his initial. Also, these are used usually after the ‘I do’s’ are said – because it’s not your last name until then. (I am thinking of wearing a monogram necklace for the reception but not for the wedding)

So what is the third letter and we can see if we can create something that would make you want to ‘buck tradition’.

Or I will look for a way to combine the two letters by themselves.

(I feel your pain though – I kept trying to put an A and a J together and I can’t do it in a way that looks awesome – let alone with the last initial being a J also – makes it even harder for the third letter)

EDIT: what about something like this?

EDIT2 (lol):

@eocenia:  You could do a 3 initial monogram. Your first names and your last name, if you are taking his name.

I would play around with fonts.  The font I’ve attached might be too traditional for your design and the I kind of looks like a T, but we used this Script font for our invitations because we have the same problem.  My married last name will begin with an O…boring!

@eocenia:  sadly no. but – this is something I could easily do in Illustrator (when I get home to my Mac lol).

Also think if you search – circle monogram or diamond monogram there are a bunch of examples. These two specifically seem to mesh well with the rigidlity yet sweetness of swedish design.

example of circle:

example of diamond:

Not saying you would either of these specifically but could deliver a jump-off point.

@eocenia:

I might only use outlines of these letters like that first one you tried you can color them to match the greens or the blues…

@eocenia:  I think we’re done here. lol This lining looks JUST like you lining for the fauna you have already created – print this and use it for an outline and paint it! You do it super huge and shrink it down for different things…

@eocenia:  It’s perfect!

And it’s no big deal 🙂 – I love the creative process – especially to someone who’s open to input like you usually are. Some bees post things and just want you to ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ over them…

I work in IT – all system work and no art makes me a very dull girl lol – stuff like this keeps me sane!

*But* – I will make it a point to upload my mock-ups for my invites this weekend if it kills me! I’ll tag you so you can find them whenever you have a spare minute and you can give your honest opinions…
