I’ve never been to Tennnessee, but I have been to Montana, maily to northwestern (Glacier country) area, and its GORGEOUS. If you like being outdoors, you would love Montana. Yellowstone is supposed to be pretty awesome too, though I’ve never been.

I live in Tennessee and go to the mountains quite a bit!! East Tennessee is BEAUTIFUL!! I actually got engaged at a cabin in Gatlinburg on labor day. I would highly suggest Timber Tops as a company to go through to get your cabin. Gatlinburg is pretty commercialized with amusement parks, etc… but there are lots of outdorsey things to do! I noticed your wedding date is in August and you are from Michigan SOO let me tell ya, it can be hot there in August. Labor day weekend it was in the upper 90’s. With that said, last year I was in Chattanooga for labor day and it was not bad. We went tubbing in the Ocoee and the water was cool!

I have also been to Montana.. Big Sky to be exact. It is gorgeous up there although I was there in the winter to ski.

Hope this helps!!

I’m from Montana, so maybe a little biased ;), but it is BEAUTIFUL here, and lots and lots of places to go and see! When would you be taking your honeymoon? You can PM me if you want any info too!

Ooh, tough pick!  My Maid/Matron of Honor and her husband did a Tennessee cabin honeymoon and loved it.  A co-worker of mine got married in Montana and her photos were GORGEOUS.  I would probably pick Tennessee myself as Montana weather can be very tempermental.

I’ve lived half my life in Montana and it’s beautiful all over! As you go further west it gets more mountainous w/ trees, starting about Livingston Pass, but there’s some gaps od rolly plains in there still, once you’re past Butte & Helena, you’re good to go! Oh I miss it out there, had to move away a lil over 2yrs ago. *sigh*

First, you should add a poll!

Second, I can’t say anything about Montana but I can say we stayed at a lake for a week in Tennessee last summer and it was really fun! No cell service, the Mexican place didn’t have a liquor license (so no margaritas!) but I had fun being lazy on a tube in the lake and drinking a lot.  Wink

(I’d pick Montana, for the record!)

I have never been to TN so can’t comment on that but I love Montana.

Northwest MT is the prettiest part in my opinion and Glacier NP outshines Yellowstone by far.

I live in East TN and I agree with a previous poster about Timber Tops.  We’ve also had great cabin rentals from Sugar Maple Cabins.  They’re a little cheaper than Timber Tops.  Tennessee is absolutely beautiful!  I know I’m partial but it is.  We talked about honeymooning in Montana though too.  I’ve never been but my uncle has gone on numerous hunting trips there and he says it’s to die for!!  (Well he said the views were unbelievable…. I can’t see my uncle saying “It’s to die for!” haha I could tell he was totally impressed and has been back SEVERAL times.)

I’ve had a love affair with Montana for years now. I think it’s the only place in the US that could woo me away from DC. I think a cabin honeymoon there would be romantic.
