Sorry, I’m really wordy so let me try to make this as simple as I can. I am looking for a moonstone wedding ring and thought I would see if anyone has any ideas/suggestions. A couple of things…
1.) I want moonstone specifically because it is a stone that runs in my family. I have a simple white moonstone right that has been passed down in my family for 2 generations now, and I want to continue the tradition and pass it along to our daughter someday. But at the same time, I love it and want to keep a part of it with me. So I was thinking why not go with a non-traditional wedding ring and get a rainbow moonstone (I love the look of it, but it still has that sentimental value of a “family” stone…even if it’s a little different.
2.) As a therapist, I want to have a ring that is not a traditional diamond. Because of one of the populations I work with, I tend to shy away from self-disclosure. If my patients feel more comfortable confiding in someone who is married, they can take my ring as a wedding ring. If they feel more comfortable confiding in someone who is not married, I want my ring to be something that can be interpreted either way so they can project whatever they need onto me.
With that being said, I’ve been having problems finding what I am looking for. I had the most gorgeous ring originally picked out, but there are 2 problems with it:
1.) it’s in Japan, and 2.) Fiance and I are moving the wedding up for health reasons so we’re on a very limited budget/timeframe.
Which brings me to my current dilemma. I can’t seem to find a similar ring in the US…
The other ring I was originally looking at is sold out…
I found a designer on Ebay with 4 styles which are okay (and in sterling silver so definitely in my budget)…just not so much what I had my heart set on. I’m also not sure how big the stone really is (I don’t want tiny, but I’m a dance therapist and part of our work often involves the use of touch so I don’t something that’s going to stick out too much). And I’m far too practical to take it on and off for every single one of my sessions. But I’m an incredibly visual person and these measurements don’t mean anything (please anyone have any comparison)…my ring size is a 7 if that helps).
This one says 6 mm x 4 mm (no idea how big that is)
This one says 5 mm x 3 mm (still no idea what that looks like)
This one says 5 mm (help…how big is this really?)
This one says 7 mm.
Etsy has 2 that I really liked…The lotus ring is beautiful but it takes a few 6 weeks to get in (which could be a problem)…
They also have the Allison ring, but this one is a little pricey…
Any other suggestions are welcome. Or opinions on the rings shown…thank you!!!
