I think I would do the first option, but it does depend on how long your names are.

Personally I would do the 2nd one. Even if you arent formally changing your name its still the simplest easiest way.

@oracle: We use the last, but with an ampersand instead of a slash.  To use fake names that sound reasonably like ours (and give away my obsession with Game of Thrones), I’ve made ones that say:

    Casterly & Stark

It does look kind of law firm or talent agency, but I kind of like that.  I keep thinking if we get classy ones for after the wedding instead of the mail merge I’ve used in the past that I’ll design it with a large, semi-transparent ampersand or something nifty like that, but for now they’re pretty basic.

ETA: a couple other notes –

The first one could work, depending on how long your address is.  If you have a long street address and/or city line, 25 letters may not be that much.

I would not use Mr. and Mrs. John Doe unless you’re going back and forth with what names you’re using socially and legally.  I think if you use that, people are going to infer from it that you have taken his name.

@oracle: I voted for the first option, but if you think your names are too long, how about just using your first initials: J. Smith & J. Doe.

Personally, I would just use first names (but I know you said that’s your last choice).

I’m with FutureKMM. If it were me in the situation, I’d use first names. But if you like last names best, go for it! ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s what makes you happy, girl.

hehe, we were in the same predicament!  Ours would have been even longer than yours with last names, so I just did first names.  Jane & Joe ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d spell out the names totally, but that’s just me. My second choice would be your two last names.
