Only place I even know to look is Davids bridal because I need a gown thats under 500 dollars…. Is there specific designers that generally run lower price.. Even one that if its on sale would put it in my price range. Someone says the word designer to me and all i see is dollar signs. lol
I want to get an idea of what i want without going to the store since the only people that would dress shop with me are out of state and I refuse to go alone. But all dress shop websites say is what designers they carry.
If it helps I’m looking for a V-neck pick up dress and davids bridal only has strapless ones.

@Kate0558: I would look at used dresses. I got mine for $500 and it retails for 2k. It was in pretty close to perfect condition (technically there is a spot or two on the underside of the train where you can’t see). Its La Sposa’s Fanal. I also saved a ton on alterations because the bride who wore it before me is my height and has the same measurements. So all I have to get done is add a bustle (though this doesn’t often happen, I just picked a popular dress so I had a lot of listings to choose from).
ETA: preownedweddingdresses.com and oncewed.com are good sites to start with.

I know someone who had good luck at Alfred Angelo’s sale rack. She got a beautiful dress for $500!

I second Mori Lee, here are some I tried on that were under $1000, if you bought the sample it would be a lot less, some samples sell for 25%-75% off the original price.
- Mori Lee 1612 -$880
- Mori Lee 4521 – $500
- Mori Lee 4808 – $600
- Wtoo “Mimi” – $800
- Wtoo “Natalia” – $850
Maybe it’s worth taking a trip to Church Street Bridal they are located in Lynchburg, Virginia. http://www.churchstreetbridal.com/index2.php?v=v1#/home/ They sell sample dresses from high end bridal shops like Kleinfeld bridal. They also post their inventory on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/churchstreetbridal

I would suggest calling some bridal shops in your area and asking if they have anything under $500. I did and I had very honest responses. I ended up going to one that said they had a few – maybe 5 or 6 and then some sale dresses. I made an appointment and got mine for under 400. I wanted a fairly simple dress so it worked out perfectly. I never would have thought I could afford that shop but I was pleasantly surprised! I actually found David’s on the pricey side.

I found many stores that had entire sections of their store dedicated to last years samples that were all priced around 500 dollars or less. Can you find a store like that in your area? I absolutely love my sample dress and no-one will ever know how much it cost!
