I have 6 friends that I can’t not see as being part of my wedding. My fiance has 4 friends that he has to have in the wedding, and we originally planned on him asking 2 more friends (one from work, one from college) that are good friends but not as close as the others. He asked one of these friends (so he now has 5 friends as attendants) but is on the fence about asking the 6th person. I have basically already asked my 6 friends to be bridesmaids, so it would be weird (but possible) to ask one to step down.
My options are: 1) Keep it as it is and have 6 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen; 2) Ask one of my friends (who told me before that if we need to, she can step down, although I really don’t want to make her do this) to step down, making 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen; or 3) Have my fiance ask a 6th person to act as groomsmen, making 6 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen.
Any suggestions/thoughts? Has anyone had an “off” number of bridesmaids and groomsmen?
