@Roxykitten:  No- We had 4 Groomsmen and 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man and it worked out fine.  I would recommend only having the ones you want there.

Nope! The numbers don’t have to match. Have who you want and don’t worry about it.

@Roxykitten:  I don’t think so!  I was actually thinking about doing the same thing…

Still trying to decide whether to just have 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man (all family) or ask 2 friends as well.  Fiance doesn’t have 5 people that he wants to stand up with him (plus, we’ll probably need a couple of his friends to be ushers).

I figure the ladies could walk alone up the aisle, or we can have the last two walk with each other. (or something…)

ill be the odd man out and say its akward.

esp when it comes to those moments, perhaps walking, group shots etc, it will be an odd woman out it seems.

i mean yea its fine, there is nothing wrong with picking only who you want there.

but your question is if it would “look awkward” and you have my answer. as YES.

I think it will be totally fine. To avoid any weird looking pictures or whatever else you just need to arrange things a little differently, like, don’t have the groomsmen escort the bridesmaids down the aisle, have them walk seperately. I think it’s really common now to have an uneven number (we probably will) so I doubt anyone will bat an eyelash!

if you plan on doing couples shots and things that they get paired up, it can look funny but if not, it’s totally fine.

We had 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man and 2 Groomsmen.  You almost dont notice and we didn’t want to do any pair shots anyway.  Pictures with the Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen were Bridesmaid or Best Man, Groomsmen, Bridesmaid or Best Man, Groomsmen, Bridesmaid or Best Man and the pictures don’t look funny at all.
