So now we’re up to 13 under 10, which is great because we love having kids around. But I’m worried they’ll be bored with just music and dancing. Should we have the DJ give out favors as well? If so, what? I want all our guests to have a good time regardless of age. Any suggestions would be helpful.

@Aquaria: We’re having about 30 kids. We have little activities like coloring books at the table for them. But at every wedding I’ve been to they’re always dancing and running around so I don’t think it’ll be a problem. We’re having a candy bar which should also keep them entertained lol

I’ve been to a wedding that provided a very simple kids’ table, with small toys the kids could take for themselves and play with (these were little figurines from kids’s shows and things like bubble liquid), coloring books, color pencils, and plain white paper for drawing. It kept the kids (15 or so of them) quiet all night, and they entertained each other, too! Plus the parents always knew where to find them 🙂 It wasn’t supervised or anything per se, it was just in the corner of where everyone else was sitting so people could keep half an eye on the little ones. But kids are generally really good at entertaining themselves, as long as there’s more kids than just one or two, so I wouldn’t be too worried. Prepare with some pencils and paper and you’ll most likely be just fine.

We are having lots of kids too (about 30). We are going to get some hoola hoops for them to play with. We have the benefit of it being outside (as long as it doesn’t rain!) so we are also going to set up some lawn games. But maybe there are a few indoor games you can set up that won’t take much space?
We are also getting a photo booth that I am sure the kids will have a ball with. It comes with lots of props and dress up stuff. Maybe you could have some dress up stuff near the dance floor for the kids to use?
