Seriously!  Fish in AR.  Birds in AR, LA & KY.  Then there were more fish in MD and then Brazil! Then more birds in Sweden.  Somewhere had dead crabs.  I hadn’t seen this in Italy yet but YES, we should all be taking note.

Why aren’t we hearing more about this!  It’s not just fireworks & coincidence in my opinion.  Sure it happens, but not like this.

Except that as everyone knows, the media runs with stories people react to. There are tons of reasons animals die, it may happen in the wilderness without anyone knowing all the time, but it wouldn’t get reported on. The report says “hundreds, if not thousands” – they has no idea what the numbers are, and of course any story about any dead animals will now cause sensational journalism.

We can say the same thing about the weather, all of this is just natural occurrence.

“Spot fish are notorious for being vulnerable to the cold, and large winter kills of spot have been documented in Maryland at least twice before, a Maryland Department of the Environment spokeswoman told the Sun, with about 15 million dying in early 1976 and a smaller number in 1980.”

Doesn’t seem that unusual to me.

Massive die offs happen frequently, but aren’t made into big news stories.  However, there have been more than usual lately =/

Agreed.  These things absolutely do happen but not in the quantity and the frequency as they have recently.  Not sure about the rest of you but I live in KY where some of the birds were and other than one or two local news picking it up, we’ve seen nothing.  I can’t say the media is blowing it up here because it’s not even been on.

@MasqueradeMom: Interesting, I’ve been hearing about it constantly. But I read internet news
