*hugs* I think you should go, but tell her ahead of time that your heart is still set on your lovely dress!

Why not just go and shop with her to make her happy?  You don’t have to buy the dress with her, but maybe she just wants the mother-daughter experience.

I only included my mother in one trip (out of 4-5) and then bough my dress without her present.  Our tastes are wildly different, as are our ideas of what a wedding dress should cost (she suggested I rent a dress at one point).  Once you buy something, and love it, show it to her then.  All that matters is that you’re happy, not her!

I would go with her – have fun trying on dresses and if nothing compares than you know you found the right one and deal with the argument then!

Maybe she just wants to be there to see you in it.  I think the Sophia dress is gorgeous.  Isn’t it funny how moms sometimes take over the wedding?  For example, I sent my mom a florist quote yesterday.  She didn’t call me to talk about it so I assumed she was just being respectful that I was at work.  A few hours later I get an email from the florist – Thank you for booking me.  What?  My mom called the florist up and said she was hired.  Granted, I love the florist and the quote was great but it is not my mom’s decision!  It’s a day later and my mom still hasn’t called me.  I swear I will never be like that when I have kids.

She needs to get engaged so your mom can back off. I wish we had another girl in the family to push off all this nonsense to!

All she needs to see is how happy you are in your dream dress.  Your happiness is what matters on yours and your FH’s day!

Hopefully she just wants to go for the experience of it and not because she wants to change your dress.  Good for you for sticking with the one that you want!

Yeah, maybe that makes her think that you are really looking for something else.  But I’m sure you can make up $125 somewhere else in the budget!
