First off- my mother broke 2 of my mazanita trees. I really REALLY didn’t want to drive up to Oakhurst to buy more- se we agreed that the two large trees that WERE going to go on two tables at the alter area were now going to be centerpieces for the two “special reserved” tables for our family. Make my grandma and my FIL’s feel speical
So, I was sitting on the floor reworking my bouquet and the boutonnieres and Fiance can in and said that he might rather have his groomsmen wear pocket squares and that’s all. I asked him why- and he shifted uncomfortably. He was ok with fake flowers- but he says that now that he’s had time to think about it-he doesn’t really like them anymore.
Gee. Thanks hon.
I didn’t get mad-but I was a bit hurt. We had taken out our DSLR and taken some shots of the flowers we chose and you can see the details of them quite close. Not in a “oooh pretty” way- but in a “They’re fake” kind of way. he said THAT was what made him think. I’m pretty stressed out so I said if he really wanted we would use pocket squares and I would take off the flowers from the lanterns.
But my bouquet- I like it.
I mean, I made it and I really like it. I like my holder, I like the pink and ivory, I used brooches from some of the dresses I’ve worn on special dates.
He wants me to cut our losses and buy flowers (or a bouquet) from somewhere. Just 1 bouquet wouldn’t be hard to coordinate.
I feel like I wasted $200 on nothing. Many of the flowers I can’t resell them or take back- not to mention I LIKE the way it looked and I was just tweaking the design. I mean- I know they’re fake. I’m not trying to pretend they’re real. I just like the ruffles is all.
Why on earth wouldn’t he just tell me this sooner-like not 1 month out??
No now I have no decorations of any kind at our ceremony. Just the outdoors and our chairs. And If I use my flowers I’ll feel guilty and if I don’t I’m not sure if I’m going to like them as much.
I seriously feel like going hogwild on etsy and buying a bouquet wrap and feather trim and having a florist whip up a huge 18 inch peony bouquet.
I can’t help but feel lied to by him. I have a feeling him and his sisters want real flowers and he just didn’t want to tell me.
