sorry to hear you’ve had bad experience, i think it’s kinda “luck” that some ppl have good experience while some have really bad ones.  i wonder how those companies stay in business….

do you have the original email or order form to indicate your measurement, and take a picture with the measuring tape to show that they were off and email it to the seller!

i would be pissed.  what a waste of money

I have been so so so tempted to order a dress from China. I’m so sad when I hear these stories! I did a trip to vietnam a couple of years ago and had oodles of cloths made, so I am not too freaked by the idea.

I’m weather in a Vineyard bridesmaid dress instead of a wedding dress to save money instead of gambling on an Asian made dress.

Sorry you went through this.

So did your credit card company compensate you in any way? Are there any protections for buyers?

we ordered bridesmaid dresses from peridress or perimart (one or the other) For a friend’s wedding….we had to add panels into the skirt because they were hella snug and they weren’t very cooperative =

You have to do a lot of research before ordering from China. I actually did myself. Perimart, Peridress, and Liteinthebox were some of the first I looked into. When I did searches for reviews everything that came up was super negative, and the companies themselves seemed a little fishy. I’m sorry that you ended up with that sort of experience.

I personally went through Dressilyme, and so far the customer service has been good. My dress is estimated to arrive on the 12th.

Do you have a backup plan? Are you going to try again from China?

Hi Steph,

Any chance I could ask whether you’ve ordered a lace dress? I’m thinking of going that route as well but I’d heard that often it’s lace that tends to get difficult?

*Bump*, just wondering if any brides have had any dresses back from online places overseas with success? If so, any chance of the pic of the dress and name of the place? You’d really be helping the rest of us out!

I’m so sorry:(

Just out of curiosity – what did you pay for the gown and what gown was it modeled after?
