Hi There! I’m hoping somebody who has a morganite engagement ring can help me: I’m consideting getting a morganite center stone in my engagement ring but I have some concerns about wear and tear. I know where morganite falls on the Mohs scale and that is generally considered a decent stone for everyday wear but I want to hear from somebody who has one how theirs is holding up and if they felt it was the right choice. Thanks!

I have an 8mm morgantie engagement ring. I love it, love the color, love how it sparkles, love how unique it is – I have zero regrets. I have banged it several times pretty hard, and it is fine. I pretty much take it off when I’m home – but I would probably do that regardless of the stone. I don’t wear it when I work out (my fingers tend to swell), do dishes, clean, in the shower, doing my hair and I’ll wait a few minutes after I put on lotion. I clean it every 2-3 weeks – I let is soak in warm water with a little dawn dish soap for 10 mintues and then use a children’s soft toothbrush to clean it. But, regardless of your stone, you should clean your ring, so I don’t find the mainteance to be a problem. If you love the ring, I say go for it!
