I have a vvsi white sapphire and a vsi morganite. In my opinion, both are quite ‘flat’. They don’t have any fire like a diamond or a simulated diamond. My morganite has a diamond halo and I find myself preferring to wear it because it looks more ‘sparkly’ rather then a white sapphire solitaire which on its own can look quite dull.

I wear my morganite ring every day and I have to give it a quick clean every 2-3 days to keep it sparkly. Just with a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water.

mrspinesol: I have a peach champagne sapphire and it it’s very sparkly! A sapphire will never sparkle like a diamond because it’s not a diamond but they do sparkle in their own way. It’s more of a glimmer actually but picks up some extra light from the surrounding diamonds. Here’s some photos!

peachsapphiregirl:  gorgeous beyond words. A sapphire wont sparkle like a diamond as it isn’t one, but sparkles in its own way. I’m really liking them.

AliBeeGreat:  Nice morganite! I’ll post a video of mine soon too, I think it’s unbelievable how much sparkle comes off of this stone when it’s cut right.

Here is a picture next to our kitchen window of my morganite. Its very sparkly, but its a great cut, so I cant speak for all morganites. I LOVE MY RING and I adore my fiance for getting me this ring and working so hard on it. And yet, to my dismay, its not an everyday ring. Three reasons: its too soft a stone, its set up high, and rose gold isnt super sturdy. Ive been wearing it everyday since early November. It has gotten scratched on the top surface of the stone. However, I have had a sapphire ring for 20 years which doesnt have any scratches. Once, I smacked my ering on a TP dispenser at work and it knocked the setting out of true. I cried all the way to the closest jeweler. And a prong snapped off last week. The stone fell out and the prong is just missing. Its at the jewelers now. Im devastated:( Im going to have an eternity band made to match while its there so I have an everyday ring. Also, Ill get a plain wedding band so that the set is symmetrical. But day to day I cant wear this ring and not mess it up. Hope this helps!

I had the same dilemma when I was trying to decide if I wanted to switch my diamond to a pink stone. I ended up sticking with my diamond as I was far too attached to change it up. But I discovered Spinel as great option for an affordable pink stone. It sparkles more than sapphire and morganite and comes in pretty peachy shades. @kimi_dee has an absolutely gorgeous pink spinel!!! I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing her photo!
