I just posted a discussion on wanting a pink morganite over a diamond, “to diamond or not to diamond.”
Now that i am certain that i am going to take the plunge and convince the bf for the pink morganite i have come across a couple concerns.
1. rose or white gold? a lot of pink/peach morganites that i have found online are in rose gold, and im not sure how i feel about rose gold, i prefer white gold. can anyone post pictures of theirs in rose gold or give me their opinion?
2. also, is there anywhere that i can try one on? i am fully aware that there probably won’t be morganite rings in stock anywhere because of their low popularity compared to the traditional diamond, any suggestions? we live in western new york.
**please post your e-ring candy if you have pink/peach morganites, or even moissanites! 🙂 they are beautiful to me, even pink sapphires! haha i’m in love with the glam look of pink <3

oh && i have been looking at Laurie Sarah and Rare Earth on Etsy. http://www.etsy.com/listing/97046317/14k-princess-morganite-diamond?ref=pr_shop is kinda what i have been looking at, and i would balance it out with a diamond band on each side, or one diamond band and one pink morganite. Let me know what you think 🙂

I love morganite in rose gold. But the ring you posted is beautiful. I think I’ve seen some morganite rings at Zales if you want to try something on in store.

That ring is beautiful! I can’t answer any of your questions, but I think yellow or white gold would look the best. The ring looks great in the pictures, so if you prefer white then you should go with that.

Check out EidelPrecious on etsy for some awesome peachy sapphires.

I love both white and rose gold but for an engagement ring, I would do white gold with morganite. My reasoning is that white gold is more timeless (imo of course) and I wouldn’t get tired of it. For me, a rose gold ring would be better as a RHR.

I have a morganite ring set in white gold. The white gold makes the morganite look more of a subtle almost icy pink colour in most lights which I love, but if you are wanting it to be very pink then rose or yellow gold will probably be better. But morganite is beautiful no matter what it is just such a gorgeous stone.

I would go with rose gold. It’s timeless as long as you always love it.

You could set the stone in rose gold to complement the stone and have the band inwhite gold? Most yellow gold bands withdiamonds have the diamond set in white gold to complement the stone. Best of both worlds!

I like the pink stones in rose gold personally. Unless you want to emphasize the peachy tone of the stone. If that’s the case I’d go with white gold.

I have a morganite in white gold. It can look like peach, blush pink, or lavender pink depending on the light. I chose white gold because I wear silver jewelry and I think rose gold would be mistaken for yellow gold usually. I may get a rose gold band at some point though.
