So I was wondering, has anyone else dealt with a wedding swatch debaucle such as this…
Months ago, my bridesmaids and I, along with my mom and future Mother-In-Law, all went to a bridal shop, picked a great dress (Mori Lee Ava Collection Style 418), looked at the color swatches and picked aubergine, a pretty dark purple color. We looked at the swatch again at a different store and aubergine was definitely the one.
Everything was fine until my future Mother-In-Law went to a bridal shop the day after I ordered the dresses and came in with a swatch that looked nothing like what I had picked. I immediately had my sister go to the bridal shop the next day and double check. She confirmed that we were right the first time and that my future Mother-In-Law must have been looking at the wrong set of swatches. The next day my future Mother-In-Law calls again saying she went back to the store and the she was pretty sure she was right. I paniced and went myself to a bridal shop by my work where I again confirmed we were right orginally about the color. I felt so much better.
Well yesterday, the lady I bought the dresses from called to say that a sample swatch of the dress color I ordered came in. My sister went to pick it up and IT WAS THE WRONG COLOR. I freaked out! We again went to a third bridal shop to look at the swatches and again saw that it was the color we always thought. I called the lady I ordered the dress from, who called Mori Lee, and found out that they sent the aubergine swatch of the regular Mori Lee Chiffon dresses and not the Ava Collection Chiffon dresses.
Oi vei! I really hope Mori Lee knows what they are doing. There is only one style 418 and it’s an Ava Collection dress. The better use the right fabric!!
Anyone else have drama like this? It makes me second guess everything I have done and think that things won’t work out. . .
